This game gave me the strongest feelings of satisfaction any game ever did
Nothing quite like docking or successfuly landing for the first time
It got rather boring after trying to reach the outer parts of the solar system, it takes fucking ages even on max warp, however would recommend to anybody, you learn a lot about the physics of motion
only problem i have is not being able to warp while accelerating, is this something to do with the game engine or just a decision?
imagine how insane ion drives would be if you could warp with them
you can do physics acceleration while burning if you press right alt before accelerating as normal. you can only do x4 but still, its helpful for long burns with nervs
It is the engine. When you warp normally most of the physics is turned of so your computer is able to do it. You can use the slow 4x warp though while accelerating
The game is made in unity so no multithreading unfortunately
there's a ton of good mods out there
there's so many i had to upgrade my ram just to run them all
parts out the ass, life support, robotics, colonization, resource mining, new propulsion methods, new missions, achievements, ribbons, new planets
its just fucking endless
enjoy spending a month or two locked in your room listening to the fucking editor music
sounds great, how much ram did you need by the end? am i fine with 16 gigs?
it's hard at first but it's great fun
get a mod that allows you to make ships on other spots than the kerbal center, having to escape the atmosphere and pull is how you spend most of the fuel, so being able to skip that step should allow for a lot more fun
i also heard a few bad things (like shit DLCs and policies) from the take-two takeover, but we're porbably all filthy pirates anyway
>but we're porbably all filthy pirates anyway
exactly
I am going to tell you the sad story of Valentina Kerman.
>Be her
>Astronaut on first succesful orbit around Erf
>Enough fuel to get into orbit, not enough to reentry
>Lab too broke to develop automatisation yet
>Lab decides to leave me there
>Three years later
>Mun and Minmun have been colonized several times
>Tech Tree still too far from developing docking parts
>Fuckit.png
>Attempt nude reentry
>Run out of EVA gas midway
>Orbit around the planet for some more years
>All attempts at recovery just leave more ships stranding
>Fuckit baby one more time.mp3
>Install mod (Robo Jebediah) that allows for teleportation
>Use it just once
>Teleport Rescue ship one meter away from Valentina
>Provide her suit with some gas to allow recovery
>Ship burns every goddamn time
>Remove collision damage
>Eject both astronauts
>Bounce of the surface of the Erf like it's nothing
>MFW Thanks to Valentina we discovered quantum powers and god-like abilities
>Never use them again
>MFW Valentina has lived more time in Space than in Erf
I haven't played since September, and pured a good hundred hours in less than a month.
One of the best games ever.
i shot 3 kerbals to the mun in order to do some science that probes just can't do (and to bounce around the surface)
they are still there because every single rescue mission i send either can't land properly and blows up or won't have enough delta v left for a kerbin reentry
this happened.
>See asteroid is going to pass near Kerbin
>Big, fast and juicy
>Send multiple ships in space, assemble them in an huge behemoth
>Adjust relative speed, visual contact
>Disassemble ship and claw thrusters to the asteroid
>Start pushing retrograde to reduce the asteroid's speed and add a 3rd moon to the home planet
>Thrusters start wiggling
>WIGGLING INTENSIFIES
>EXPLOSIONS!
>Ohshitgobac- wait hold on
>See the asteroid is indeed in orbit thanks to the explosion
just as planned
but unity supports multithreading, the devs are too lazy to implement tit
of course
i prefer a commie flag because they actually were in space though
>nazis not camping on the moon since '42
your safest bet would probably be to build a mining rig there to get some fuel, or getting a rover with a claw and some tanks to collect fuel from the derelicts to the ship you're actually planning on getting back with
>commies not having a mars colony since the 30s
it isn't called the red planet for nothing my dude
Great game, been playing a hard campaign for about a year and it's been rewarding. Put over a thousand hours into the game and I've seldom felt the need to mod. Mechjeb was pretty good at playing the game for you.
damn, didn't see this coming
meh, i find campaign mode a bit tedious
too many "test X at altitude Y" missions
science mode is my go to
well if you cant get them back down, just send them a nice a nice place to live up there
It didnt until recently actually and the devs would essentially have to rewrite the whole thing
it's not like they are doing anything else, would be worth the effort
would that be possible to be modded in, or is it too ground-level to be done that way?
sorry if that is obvious but i have no idea about programming
Having programmers do things costs quite a lot of money
I suppose somebody could rewrite the thing and call it a mod
are nuclear engines (vanilla or atomic age) of any good for moon/minmus missions or should i just stick to normal engines?
Play the base game before getting mods.
Don't be one of those cock nozzles who walks into a new game and plops a shit ton of mods into it just because.
is that a mod manager of sorts? how's it called
i went from 8 to 16 and i still wasn't completely happy with it.
but its safe to say i have a modding problem so you should be fine
