Looks like I'm saving up for a camper and living in it. Seriously, how the hell are you supposed to get on your feet when shit like rent takes almost half of your check and that's not even a decent part of town. Even to live in nigville, it's like $500 a month. Then, I'm somehow supposed to eat, make car payments, pay utilities on that too? How do you do it?

Get a roommate, find a second job, and learn how to cook peasant food such as beans & rice, spaghetti, potato soup, etc. If you have the right will power you can make it work. so i went to work. then i came back from work. Which occupied most of the day, usually 11 hours mon-fri. I had a bike which i rode everywhere because i couldn't really afford a subway pass for a month after utilities and food. I learned to cook. Got creative with cooking.

Finding good places to get food was kindof fun in a hunter gatherer sort of way. New york was probably unfair in that sense because there were a lot of ethnic stores that sold raw food for absurdly low prices. Carrots, potatoes, apples, etc. One time a store was selling plums for 9c a pound. I bought an entire camping backpack worth of them and cooked plum jam for a whole day.

Idk what to tell you op. Your income situation doesn't really seem to dictate what you can and cannot do. Seek additional hours at your main job, if your not working over 50 a week your wasting your time and need to find a second job somewhere else. Build up a savings of $10-15k no matter how long it takes you and then use that savings to explore other job opportunities. If you're someone who genuinely hates your life, you're struggling and you live for the weekend because you get a couple of days off, your shit is all fucked up. You have access to the internet, something our grandparents never even had the option of doing. You can build an online business, start freelance writing, do something. You can do something to get you out of your shitty 9-5 AM or 9-5 PM life. If you keep working every day waiting for the weekend then waste all weekend relaxing and not trying to get out of your 9-5 and make a new business, you will never escape your personal hell.
