I’ve always wondered why that’s a stereotype. Almost all of the jocks in my high school were pretty nice guys, it was the dumbass dropouts who were failing all their classes that were dicks.

Even then, there wasn’t much bullying unless you knew them, then they might bother you, but not much. Girls bullying the fuck out of each other happened quite a bit though

Football Linebacker here. My best friend was a nerd in the same grade. I did not tolerate nerd bully.

I made it a point to kick the ass of any jocks that fucked with nice shy kids (football players, baseball players, basketball players, etc...)
I was a nice shy kid before high school who became a wrestler, so I looked after the nice shy kids in high school that the jocks would try to bully.

3 sport Varsity Athlete in HS. (Football, wrestling top 3 in state and rugby)
Played college rugby and U19 nat team when in HS
Bounced at bars/clubs.
Would rate me a 7/10 mayb an 8/10 some days, but some chicks would say im a 6 or a 9. You know how it goes.
Was always nice to everyone, of course testosterone would take over sometimes, but I would just "bully" or shit on people shitting on others beneath them on the hierarchy. Made a lot of enemies with popular kids (upper middle class burb in New England) but they couldnt do shit because they were scared to fight me and im not fully white (no not a nig or latino either).
Bullying 100% happens. Girls more than guys. It sometimes doesnt matter if you're rich or poor where I came from. You could just tell if someone's parents were rich-burbs functioning alcoholics, swingers, mentally ill etc, which always rubbed off on kids.

Made tons of enemies in high school, but didn't care because at that time I knew I would only see those people for a few years in high school and then I'd never see them again for the rest of my life after that. When you put high school in that perspective while you're going through it, you literally give no fucks about what enemies you make or what other people think about you.

I remember at graduation, after walking across the stage, I walked directly out to the parking out and got in my car and drove away immediately without looking back. I was the first car out of the parking out, while people were still going across the stage inside. One of the best feelings ever.

I was on the football team all four years in high school. Starting offense and defense. I just like hitting the opposite team as hard as I could. Otherwise I was a nerd who watched homestar runner and played Baldurs Gate

Four year full ride division 1 basketball in 70s and 80s. Everybody handled their own business. Bullying is a modern construct by the weak of mind body and character.
