I agree, it sucks that dogs have such short lives. But imagine their perspective. We're like elves to them, wise and inscrutable and we live for lifetimes and generations. And more to the point, they don't ever have to lose us. Like, think of how anxious they get when we go to work or school. They couldn't stand to lose us.
So I know that losing your buddy is painful but maybe it helps to remember that at least he didn't have to lose you.

I made the mistake of not really taking her out around other dogs as much when she was a baby so now shes very aggressive towards other dogs except the other 2.
She will literally try to murder any other dog and her jaw strength is SCARY powerful. If she bites a dog it's over for them.
Because shes so aggressive I cant even take her out anywhere which really makes me sad.
Ice tried and I've tried to train her but shes already stubbornly stuck in her ways.
At least she's affectionate with people I guess....

Bernese are such lovely dogs. No dog at present because I live in an apartment right downtown in a major city at present, but when I lived on the coast of BC I had an Irish wolfhound named Fergus.
Bonus benefit: the older ones teach the younger ones, which results in a continued lineage of top-tier goodboy behavior. The older dogs help the younger ones learn to be calm, and the younger ones help the older ones have some fun like in their younger days. It works great for all involved.

Little dogs are more prone to aggression literally because of their tiny brains.
The part that controls aggression is much smaller than that of a bigger dog.
Technically chihuahuas are the most aggressive breeds (way worse than pitbulls or any other stereotypical mean dog) but we just don't really care because they're harmless to us for the most part
