From what my Recruiting Supervisor told me, if your NCO or SNCO thinks something is suspicious they can drug test you. It’s good that you’re looking at grunting. I’m doing the same. It’s really obnoxious to see other people in this thread (and ones in real life) acting as if they are better than Grunts, they paint all grunts as stupid. They do random test when you're at your. Company after basic. Just don't do drugs until you get out.

They test you initially when you DEP in then the first night at boot camp. Then any time you go to a new command (training, fleet, etc) you can expect a drug test within a couple days then randomly from then. Might be different for yall cause im navy but I imagine it's all the same

Im not gonna do it in the service... that would just be dumb... Im gonna spend my time getting in the best shape of my life in the service, not sitting around getting drunk with my "battle buddys"

i joined in 2009 and was only tested the first visit. while we were waiting to be tested, before being shipped off, they said "fuck it no test today". I had been smoking a lot so good thing too. In basic they test you every time you have any leave so dont be dumb.

If you do every drug there is the night before the test they kind of all get clogged in the door of your body and hold one another back. The blood test can't get them because they're cancelling each other out.
