Every different type dog I've run into averaged out to "dogs". FWIW the vast majority of the asshole dogs have been yippy little shits. The only reason we're not seeing tacomutts on the list of killer dogs is because they physically can't.

So for backstory, one time when I was living in Houston TX there was a freeze during the winter and I saw a skinny pit bull running around. I rescued him and harbored him for almost a week before my Facebook post found a family. Food was going straight through him and he was shitting all over the place.
But for real dude get this shit.. no fucking lie I almost just got attacked by one tonight when I was walking up to my apartment. She ran out of the breezeway and charged me and I pretty much froze thinking if I ran she’d certainly attacked me. I considered jumping on top of a car next to me. She tried to bluff me and I was fucking terrified man. For a second I legit could hear myself thinking holy fuck I’m about to get mauled by a pit bull... I told the owners that I was calling the police because she was on a tear. The owners boyfriend chased after it when she slipped away from him and she started barking like crazy at some other people and was running at them too. I was fucking shook. I found the security officer that patrols the property and told him what happened.. you’re not that dude are you? Lol

All dogs have a pack mentality. They're still animals. I've seen small dogs and large dogs alike act like assholes.

My wife (dog trainer) has a Staffordshire terrier which is very similar to a pit. He's well trained but he still snaps out of training and into dog mode if large dogs try to become aggressive with him or steal his toys or whatever. All it takes is for her to stand in front of him until the other dog owner leaves and he's completely fine again.

When you see some fucking idiot walking multiple large dogs and they barely have a hold on the leash/they aren't paying attention/they can't control the dogs.. That's when you need to be cautious. That, or if you see one or more large dogs unsupervised because again they will act like animals most of the time.

This is the same guy that just wrote about the close call. I wanna throw out there that my cousin has one of the sweetest dogs ever and he’s a big old brown pit bull. Scary looking but a big ass baby.

Me too! I rescued one, she is the biggest baby! My neighbor has one too, it's so great with his kid. Little kid commanding a beefy pit like a boss is kinda awesome.

Have a Romanian street dog that was rescued and taken to U.K., unknown mixed breed, looks like a pit / staffordshire bull terrier mix.

Considering she'd had no prior contact with humans and had never been inside a house before, let alone lived in one, she is the best dog ever.

Super intelligent, learns commands quick, friendly as hell, likes to cuddle and get loved on. Only downfall is, because she had to hunt and find her own food, she is extremely small animal aggressive... will kill rats, mice, rabbits, can snatch birds out of the air.

She's okay with most dogs, if they aren't in her face too much. She's covered in scars all over her face, ears and legs, but we don't know her history, could have been used for bait / fighting, but doesn't show aggression, she will just shy away instead.

10/10 best dog ever.

I've known a few that were good dogs. Never encountered an uncontrollable pit. If the dog believes that you are the alpha, it will obey you. That's for every breed. The problem is people trust them alone round children and small women. You always need the alpha to keep them in line.

they're disgusting and vicious little faggots. My neighbor used to have 7 of them, and just left them in the back yard all day and night. They would constantly bark at nothing, and if I made any kind of noise it would just be a barrage of yaps for hours at the fence. I couldn't sleep, couldn't watch TV. I actually came close to throwing poisoned meat over the fence a few times.

My sister had an unneutered male pit bull for sixteen years. She got him as a puppy as soon as he was ready to be adopted. My sister actually knows how to raise dogs and he was properly socialized, loved other dogs, even small ones, and cats, and birds, and horses, and every other animal or person he came across. He wasn't food aggressive at all, his worst personality trait was destroying objects out of boredom/anger when he was left alone for long periods of time. I saw small dogs bite his face and hang off his lips while he just tried to get away from them and cry. He ended up being put down because his arthritis got too bad and he was in pain.
Of course he was bred from decent stock by decent people and raised by someone who actually knows how and cared enough to do it properly, and he was the pick of the litter temperament wise. If you ask me the rampant uncontrolled breeding of dogs by any asshole is allowed and the fact that any literal retard can buy an animal that grows large enough to easily kill people are both insane. You should really need a license to have a dog or any other animal that needs significant training.

Pit bulls are *perhaps* more likely to attack an unfamiliar dog, but if you take into account attacks on strangers and owners as well chihuahuas are more aggressive (second only to weinermutts). I guess what I'm saying is that if you can kick the dog through the uprights of a football field you probably should.

Too risky for me. Yeah there are good ones, but there are so many bad ones. I'd rather not have people move to the other side of the street when I'm walking the dog, rather not worry that something will set the dog off the dog park, worry that someone I bring over to the house will get attacked for no reason.

Brother in law adopted a pit, it barked all the time and didn't like people petting her back. Other than that it was ok. One day when he was coming home from work, the front door was open and the pitbull ran outside and attacked a dog that a person was walking down the sidewalk in front of his house. Totally unprovoked.

I'll stick to the boring dogs, labs, Golden's, etc. Last thing I want is a lawsuit because I want to prove a point that pitbulls are good dogs

I dunno about that. My family once had a chihuahua and he was a fat little fuck with a broken nose and his tongue always stick out. He was super aggressive and barky when he was annoyed, but thats just cause he was a bit cat like. He was also super cuddly and loved nothing more than sitting in my lap while I played videogames and stuff.

He never bit me. He bit my sister once cause she was being annoying as fuck and I had to give him props for that. He also used to foam at the mouth with rage when you tried to cut his toe nails.

All over a great little dog. Lots of good memories, no bad ones. But I Wouldnt get another one just because they're not friendly enough to strangers and I want my dogs to go to dog parks.

I've stopped choosing by breed, I tried a few dogs at the shelter. The one that seemed to play best with other dogs just happened to be a pit.

But, I had a lab when I was a kid that goult our a couple times the last time was when my sister and I, probably 8-10, tracked her down and watched her murder a stray cat and then bring its body down onto the beach.

My parents put her down after that because we had two cats and another smaller dog and they were afraid she might hurt one kf them or us.

It was and still is to this day the most I have ever seen my father cry while we were giving her her last meal before taking her to the vet.

That sounds lovely. The place I live doesn't really have a shelter where there are dogs. There's only ever a couple that need to be adopted and they're never all in one place.

Also, I'm too shit scared to adopt a full grown or even large puppy dog right now. I have a cat rhat is absolutely fucking terrified of dogs. My sisters came to visit and he spent the whole weekend almost completely immobile ontop of the fridge looking like he was about to have a heart attack. I think he needs a puppy first to get used to the idea of dogs.

When testing the puppers at the shelter I had my eye on a the most beautiful lad-collie mix, was great with people but jumped any dogs.
The pit I tried was great with people and dogs. 3 years in and she's still a big baby and gets along fine with my old lab.

I've never owned a cat and dog at the same time. My sister has a Brichon Frise and a cat. The cat is actually the alpha in that relationship, lol.
