Amazing stuff

Talisker Storm is my go to, I'm Scottish and my dad's in the industry so I've got access to a whole lot of good shit

Any1 has tried this one?

It's mid to low tier but it's OK stuff

Laphroaig QC Islay single malt whisky
Laphraoig (in several incarnations) has been my favourite since the first bottle that I bought.
At 48% ABV it is extraordinary good value for money for such an exquisite taste, and it is superb whether you drink it at the bottle strength, or add a splash of spring water to let it down to the more usual 40% ABV that most whisky is sold at.

I almost like the Lagavulin 16 as much as the Laphroaig QC, but it is significantly more expensive despite the fact that it is sold at the lower 40% ABV.

There are a lot of other whiskies that I occasionally buy, and I always like to have at least one bottle of a good cask strength whisky tucked away in a cupboard. At the moment I have a George & J G Smith's cask strength Olorosso finish in there.

Not drinking them at the moment, because I have given up alcohol for Lent.

im no expert and typically drink blended whiskey & coke.
but this stuff is great. i like the taste of wood and malt in it. a little water made it even better.
even remember the day i was in the distillery, because queens mom died that day.

Ah, a man of good taste! All of those are excellent choices. Good luck with lent!

Fine is this better than

Mr. Boston

My go-to cheap whiskey has been Monkey Shoulder, but I don't feel like searching for a picture of that, so here's something else that's pretty good.

Yukon Jack

im simple.

Good choice, though I like the 12y more

Only good with coke

Crown on the rocks, straight or with coke depending on my mood. Only the original.

I like Lagavulin. Never seen an 8 though...

anything islay tbh. Born and bred, raised on distillery grounds. I am personally offended when people compare the real shit to JD and such

Attached: heaven.jpg (540x960, 98K)

It's usually the same price, if not a little cheaper than the 16yo. If you're ever interested in buying a bottle, nearly all good online retailers sell it.

It’s young and feisty, really a kick in the balls compared to the older ones. Less complex though

Great taste, show tits

This is probably my overall favorite.

haha who said I had tits

Laphroaig is one of those whiskey's that you can never go wrong with. Always wanted to try the 10yo cask strength but it's hard to find.

And anyone who compares JD to a good single malt scotch is retarded.

Touché

Please don't judge

PENDERYN MADEIRA FINISH

For me taste to value ratio there is nothing better.

Based choice, all penderyns are awesome

truth. I'm personally more about ardbeg tbf. I have a pretty much limitless access to a lot of special bottlings. My first time getting drunk was on Lord of the isles (aged 13) and I fucking hate that I couldn't even appreciate it.

On the rocks

How much is that?

Boom, great whiskey

I got some Ardbeg as a wedding favour, it was great

Whiskey is everywhere right now. Bourbons, Scotch, ryes, Canadian ryes, Tennessee whiskey, Colorado whiskey, Irish Whiskey, small batch, single malt, single still … the list goes on. There’s been a boom so big that whiskey has come to dominate the drinks world. And, that’s great. The more we love whiskey, the more variety we get, and the more refined it becomes. But that also means it’s hard to find the best-tasting whiskey out there.

First and foremost, let’s not pretend there is a singular “best.” Whiskey, as a drink, is far too varied to be thought of as a monolith (see the second sentence of this article). But still, some do rise above and become popular thanks to their taste. Those popular whiskeys then come to dominate the market. Are there tiny stills working in the cracks and crevices of the whiskey world, creating amazing whiskeys only a few have had the pleasure of tasting? Of course. But, when it comes to the masses, known commodities will dominate.

With that in mind, we thought we’d head over to Ranker to find out which whiskeys taste best, according to the masses. 40,000 folks voted and a clear top ten emerged. But we’re going to take it a step further this time around and recommend a bottle we love from each brand in the top ten. Let’s jump in!

1. Woodford Reserve2. Maker’s Mark3. Knob Creek4. Jameson Irish Whiskey5. The Macallan6. The Glenlivet7. Crown Royal8. Jack Daniel’s9. Johnnie Walker Black Label10. Glenfiddich

The best in the world however hand's down goes to House whine house rose - can of whine.

My absolute favourite is the aberlour 12 year. Its so silky smooth

Holy shit! Have you ever tried Ardbeg Supernova? It's a bottle I've been on the hunt for for such a long time. I've had Octomore 8.3 but that's the other highly peated whisky I need to try before I die. Such a shame hahaha!

Between £30 and £45 depending on where you buy it from. Most decent supermarkets in the UK will sell it.

Like 60 bucks US

The 18 yr is good too but it’s over 300 bucks. I’ve had it in bars but you pay a mint.

yes it's decent once it had some oxygen in the bottle

an cuan mor is soo much better

barf, bourbon

Luke warm black velvet. 60% of the time, always a good time

I don't have one, I just buy whatever is the cheapest ABV/$.

qc is much less nive in my opinion then the regular ones and doesn't even come close to the an cuan mor

lots of nice japanese whiskey, i like karuizawa, curious to hear about this one

wtf why they call this whiskey ill never know

nice choice, both

top choice

nice

nice whiskey for a nice price!!

God tier

This one, of course lads

If we're going down the Irish route, no love for Paddy?

Best ones I've tasted so far:
Oban 14y
The Dalmore King Alexander III
Bruichladdich Black Art 5.1
Bruichladdich 1986/30
Ardbeg Uigedail
Bunnahabhain 16y Manzanilla Cask

I like the 101 too, but kick in a couple more bucks and try Bulleit. It’s smoother and just really good. The go to for me now unless I’m going fancier...
