a militia wasn't a standing force; it was something that could be called up when needed. people were expected to bring their own guns, so the individual right was necessarily protected so that a militia could be formed.

If you were to interpret the second in modern language it would state "A well disciplined militie, being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of an individual to own and carry arms shall not be infringed." It's not hard. It was made simple to prevent misinterpretation and yall are looking like clowns trying to figure out a way around the whole "shall not be infringed" bit. You legally can't tamper with an individual's right to own arms. Not "assault weapons", ammunition, bumpstocks. It's all covered under "Arms".
