Unfortunately OP this is legit from Comcast. I've gotten it before. And what tthey mean is that they will give you an extra 50gb twice, but start charging you after that. Aaand upload and download are added together for consumption calc. Meaning if you upload 50gb and download 50gb you used 100gb of your cap.

I live with my sister, her husband and their kids and theres either netflix or some other sort of streaming and torrenting going on all day.
When we signed up we payed for unlimmited bandwidth. If they pulled some kind of Jew trickery on us and said we went over the cap I'd tell them to fuck right off and not pay them.
I'm in Canada and I have at least 12 ISPs I can choose from in my city so I doubt they would pull something like that.

My phone is on Virgin Mobile and they started doing home internet in my area recently.
$55 including tax for 100MB connection with no transfer cap.
Its a pretty sweet deal for a Canadian isp.

I used to work for an ISP.
Bandwidth is never unlimited.
They may not have you on a monthly quota, but you can bet your bitrate isn't going over a certain number and they'll probably disconnect you if they detect too many open connections.

In America we typically have one or two. My choices are Comcast or attached. Comcast can do up to 1gbps for internet. Attached access do 1.5 Mbps. That crazy slow and not a choice for a non 80yr ood

But im in America us of a baby. But to start with I'm unsure what we signed up into. I will chat with my mother in law about it. (She set it up) if worst comes to worse guess I'll have to Muhammad the local comcast location

Me, my sister, her husband and my nephew all have our own computers and their two youngest both have tablets.
I also upload torrents 24/7 unless I'm gaming online.
I've looked at my bandwidth usage and the highest I can remember seeing it was around 8TB in a month. Average is 3-5TB. Never been cut of or throttled.

Theres about 550 000 people in my city and with tons of options. I've been with at least 4 different companies since around 2010.
