Yeah, I used to think they were okay but then I experimented with some nicer craft beers and tried going back to Budweiser. It tasted flavorless but overly sweet at the same time (corn syrup?), flat, awful. Wanted to puke with every swallow.

I've been drinking a LONG time, and honestly, I like all the good beers you probably like, but if you drink with any frequency, theres a place for regular beer, too. Quality beer is expensive, and I'm not spending $100 a week on good beer. Even without the expense, most good beer comes in bottles, and hauling 3 cases of bottles to the curb is difficult. So, I mostly drink Coors Gold, $17 a 30pk, and get the good shit when I go out with friends to the pizza bar.

I'm a light drinker. If I drink a 4-pack a week I feel like I'm overdoing it. Ideally I'd drink one to two beers a day, one with a meal and one if I mow the lawn or do any yardwork, and maybe a 6-pack if a sporting event is on.

It can be fun to go with friends and sit at a picnic table in the sun and drink a craft beer, but the vast majority of the time I drink cheap domestic macro lager. It's refreshing and unpretentious.

I don't have a BYOB policy, but I do have a house beer. Want something different, bring it. Two cases of good beer is $100. I used to keep a keg tapped, but you can only get "normal" beers on tap, or you have to order it, get a specialty tap, etc. A quarter holds about 70 beers, and I would go through about one per week. Now I just get cans.

hop flavoring is damaged by sunlight, that's why all sensible beer bottles are brown.
You get some shitty aluminum flavor if you drink from the can but if you pour it out it's actually a better preserved beer

Current favorite, great beer to have at the end of the day when you're ready to crash. 10%, lots of complex flavors going on, bitter with a slightly sweet finish.
