ok, good luck with that I dropped out for the same thing and here I am on welfare 15 years later. but i'm sure its going to work out for you because y'know you got this, you are talented and going somewhere and people love your music.

just know ull have to work hard as fuck to be succesfull, and even then theres no guarante, but i do wish u luck, and even more i wish you persistence

Make sure that when you decide to KYS you pull a Christchurch but end it with offing yourself. You'd finally help do some good for once in your life by cleaning a crumb of shit off the planet.

Attached: AtLeastYouTried.jpg (500x371, 17K)

You are stupid. Dumb one

Why ? university is a scam anyways

yo unironically me too man whats ur instagram im on that music shit too and im a dumb ass

this
id rather be welfare scum making music and smoking bleezys til i off myself then be a student loan slave
but im a nigger so EZ lol

I dropped out and it worked out, now making 65k doing a management job. Good enough for me.

bachelors degree is a minimum requirement anymore

Being realistic here. Probably not a good idea. Unless you're the next linkin park, you won't do well. Just drop out of school and learn something practical like plumbing, electrical engineering, welding, or anything that robots can't do well. If not, just work at mcdonalds like the rest of us. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you do. Fuck school btw

Attached: 99UhRRI.jpg (639x781, 71K)

i mean i am very into music. it is my life. Linkin park is a very low bar to set lol. Thanks anyways

>very low bar to set
Literally over a billion views on youtube
Whatever you or I think about them, people like their shit. I don't know what hot shit you think you're selling, but I guarantee it's not the next big thing. At best, you can make a living doing what you love, but you can do much better working another skill that's in high demand and pays well. Just saying, it's your life.

didn't linkin park kill himself like nirvana?

Ja

Attached: med_1513634848_image.jpg (1280x720, 80K)

Good for you user, you dont need that shit anyways. Education is dead. Uni isn't for learning, it's for getting diplomas. You basically pay a shitload of money for staying years at an indoctrination center to receive a piece of paper at the end that says" Good Goy " and some false sense of academic superiority. In reality everything you've been taught can be found online and you used the internet to get your grades anyway, which really shows how dumb this whole thing is. University is a joke. It's nothing more than a place for upper-middle class brats to waste their time and their parent's money.

Attached: 1553313703907.jpg (750x750, 42K)

Uni is easy, its the only time you will be able to work on music without having a real job. Stay and just do shit and if your music works out your all good

hatefull boomer detected

IT FEELS SO LIBERATING GOD DAMN

Attached: 1551560614405.jpg (800x758, 45K)

Lol good luck. Outlook is not good.

I voted for Trump, but I ain't no boomer, kid.

SHUT THE FUCK UP HATERS YOU'LL HEAR ABOUT ME IN FEW YEARS

Attached: 1550726969617.jpg (249x237, 8K)

Then at least link to your soundcloud tool.

Op if that's what you're gonna do, just get a stable job to give you stability to work on your music career. Not saying that you won't make it or anything because I don't know you, but just get a day job so you won't be so stressed. Also, u HAVE to take a music theory class or at least do independent research on music theory. Just know how chords work, how to write a 4 part harmony, shit like that. I beleive in u.

Nahh overdoses hardly ever make the news.

Attached: Junky.jpg (600x450, 97K)

Thanks for support

Best of luck to you. Link music

Here's how to write a chord progression. The 1 chord is the root, or the note of the key signature. For example, in c major, the chords are:

1,2,3,4,5,6,7
Cmajor, dminor, e minor, f major, g major, a minor, b diminished in that order
To sound good, don't use 2, or 7. The most important thing is to almost ALWAYS use a 5 chord before the 1 chord. If you don't want to, you have use a 4 chord before the 1 chord. Also, you can go from 5 to 6 to sound sad.

If you're using a minor key signature, raise the 7th by a half step to make shit sound better. Trust me. Especially when using a 5 chord in a minor key signature, RAISE THE SEVENTH. That is all.

As for the style of music you want to do, in order to get gud, just listen to the most popular music in that genre and practice replicating songs 1:1 as best you can. You will really notice the patterns you notice in the drums and strumming patterns and bass and such. Try to use the patterns you learn in your own songs.

Feel free to hmu on the ig dms. My @ is @xzor I can help u with music stuff.

Good lukj quitting "uni." Rage on, music will have you dead by 40. Good choice. What could go wrong????

I totally read "I'm planning to pursue magic". And I wanted to say "Godspeed".

Honestly, we're at the point Master's degree is. Everyone's got one now.

>into music
>thinking it means anything
I'll second user's point. If you can handle school, learn a trade.
AND LISTEN TO US, YOU DUMBFUCK.

Another mouth we all have to feed. Fuck you.

I'll have the #1 combo with a diet Dr. Pepper.

My inspirations are Guthrie, Animals as leaders, Meshuggah, im chasing prog mostly. Love it, why should not i pursue something i love ? fuck the system lmao, fuck life, i wanna to what i wanna do. : youtube.com/watch?v=wLXpEt42W-8

Let’s hear some of your music

You know it's bad when a simple management position requires a master's degree or at very least bachelor's with 4 years of experience.

Ok

If you can't be successful at uni, what makes you think you'll make it as a musician?

because i genuinely love music ?

You love music? Big fucking deal, so does everyone else. Can you actually play an instrument? Have you ever been in a band? What kind of musical training do you have?

No, I know it's bad when it's a master's in something unrelated.

i can play guitar well, i've been in a band, self educated musician. Hates gonna hate lmao

Alright, so if you're very, very lucky you might be able to make the equivalent of a minimum wage job from music alone. But you probably won't. You would've been better off staying in university or learning a trade like a sensible person. You'll probably realize that too late.

If you are already in Uni then, you are already a student loan slave, dummy.

Great! Another fucking NEET society is going to have to carry. I can't wait for you to bitch and moan about how your hobby doesn't pay enough for you to support yourself. What's the next opportunity you're looking to squander?

He's either an idiot, underaged, or both. But most likely just baiting. He has no idea what he's talking about. It's probably just a troll thread.

Lol for what

youre not gonna make any money
all musicians i know dont make any money from music they all have day jobs and play gigs to like 20-30 people if they're lucky maybe once in a lifetime get to be an opening act to some other shitty band

You have no idea how good i am lmao. You'll see in few years, just wait. Keep track of Prog music field. I'll let everyone know i'm from Yea Forums

Lol for managing what? Office supplies?

Could be, but experience has taught me that genuine morons are equally as common as trolls, if not more so. I think it's important to never underestimate the potential of human stupidity.

Prog music hahaha what the fuck is that. You better not quit your day job

Okay nevermind, now that I've seen this post I'm 80/20 in favor of troll.

Yeah, we don't know how good you are. Why don't you post some of your music, so we can see?

B-b-but I make cool beats with fruity loops on my laptop. Don't diss mee because you aint me

You've got to get a hold of a teensy weensy bit of that weedle-dee-deed, my man! I'm high as FUCK right now!

Attached: 20313969.gif (300x400, 202K)

so am i brother

Just what the music industry needs, another djent clown. The 7/8/9 string crap has been done to death. Nobody care about your palm muted, odd-time signature riffs and 15 minute exhausting songs. Nobody cares that you can sweep pick. How about you write a decent song instead of trying to give other 500 pound prog neckbeards boners in their bedroom?

yeah for real, requirements anymore are retarded.

Sukk a dicc lol

The animations are flawless! alagak bar!
Also yes drop everything and pursue the wonderful life of the music industry honestly if I were you I'd get into something worth while like teaching, mentoring, or human services. Do what moves you I guess

I get it now. You're dropping out to spend your tuition money on LSD and cocaine.

lol you're just mad its not 2010 anymore. Nobody wants to hear watered down Periphery glitchy djent crap. And certainly nobody is going to pay for it. "WOW I USE AN AN AXE FX ULTRA!!!!!! I USE AN IBANEZ 8 STRING!!!!! BAREKNUCKLE PICKUPS ONLY!!!!!!!" At least learn some proper jazz and how to read music so you can be marketable.

Yea almost any jobs Ive had or looked at they dont give a shit about the degree if you have any sort of experience. College is a waste outside of engineering or technical shit

Pretty sure two of them did

Good luck user
>I'm planning to pursue music
Hope you like being hungry and homeless

>any sort of experience

8 years fast food, woohooo!

Do you know people in the business Do you know people? That's not how the world works OP... You can't just pick your destiny. Oh and Santa isn't real btw

Top is his dropout plan

Bottom is the result if he had stayed in college.

May god have mercy on his soul.

Nursing and medical imaging have a great ROI too. Business management, actuarial science, and accounting are all reasonable as well. There are plenty of degrees that land decent jobs. Just research the job market before you drop a few grand and a years earning one.

Lol, me too. That's the post that sold it.

Make uni your hobby at least.

No I was saying that experience trumps any degree, because I don't have one and don't plan on getting one.

>having gay nigger porn saved

Yea you named a few. But thats like 10% of a uni's degree offerings. In large part its not as valuable as most people are led to believe. Like homeboys saying a masters is min req are ones that been lied to with their music degrees

>professional ass wiper
Have fun with that

>non accredited ass fiddler

Can OP post some fucking music he's made already.....

Also OP- how do you plan to support a spouse/family with your hobby? Don't you think that's pretty selfish and irresponsible?

the people here also know about music discord..gg/q3UFnE

>homeboys
Nigger pls go

I did the same thing so I cant really talk shit.

I can play it better than you liberal cucks and your fake certificates that mean absolutely nothing.

>Can OP post some fucking music he's made already.....
"Artists" don't actually do anything
They just say they do and wave their arms around

Gay cunt

With all the practice you've had I'd be surprised if you couldn't fiddle ass better than every one else

Good luck

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night.
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
'This could be heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face.
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (any time of year) you can find it here
Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain,
'Please bring me my wine'
He said, 'we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine'
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say"
Welcome to the Hotel California

They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise), bring your alibis
Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said, 'we are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
'Relax' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

It makes perfect sense, you waste all those years just to end up cucking yourself to someone like me who will be your boss. lul

This guy is my bro, he knows. I make 60k and dropped out of uni my first year. You fags are fools.

Pretty much every parent has wiped someone's ass before. Not really the end of the world to do deal with shit to save lives and get paid. Just pick anything other than nursing off that list if you can't handle it. That's really just the tip of the dick anyway. There are plenty of other fields that compensate well. I just rattled off a few that came to mind.

That's just you samefagging you pathetic faggot

Wiping old people's shit off is not saving lives you clown
Do get a tax refund on toilet paper?

You're saying i'm wrong? Get some motivation and you can be successful at anything, you don't need a shitty piece of paper telling you what you can be.

I clearly said you were samefagging
How did you not understand that?
>you don't need a shitty piece of paper telling you what you can be
Ironic considering that's the one piece of equipment you need to do your job as an ass wiper

Good luck, man. I wish I had to balls to do that too.

I run this label: nostilevo.bandcamp.com

Hey I support you user! You can definitely do it. Tons of people make great money off their music. The reason most suck is because they don’t learn to market themselves or build campaigns to promote their music. You need to secure enough money to polish 3 solid songs in a genre you can make a niche out of, make some videos and pay for ads to get them out there. Then approach as many outlets and orgs related to that genre with your videos and songs. Protip if you want to have an album listed on spotify it must be 30 min or more to be considered an album and not a single. But I wouldn’t do Spotify off the bat that’s like a movie going straight to redbox. Put out ads and sell your EP and self promote until you get a deal or build a strong indie campaign.
