My mom has a brand new Z06, and I now have that Honda Prelude (or my brother since he thinks he owns it even though he doesn't even have a learner's permit). I've felt pretty awful these past few days too, none of that helps.

1998, 166k miles. The interior is very nice, although there are a few scratches on the exterior and a dent on the hood. Well according to Wikipedia the only two trims available in the US for the 5th gen were the base and Type SH, both with the H22A4, and it's definitely base model. That retard wants to put the SH spoiler and shit on it, and he took the valve cover off and put red engine paint on it before I even got here. It looks like trash, he's already ruining my uncle's car which he didn't even want to give up.
H22 is one hell of a motor.
I've definitely seen what they can do. Impressive, but I still love muh LS. I can't decide if I want to get a C4 or a C5 because C5's are really starting to get cheap, and I know the C4 motors are shit which I'm just going to blow up within a year anyway. Financially speaking, it would be much better to just save until I can afford a C5 that I'll most definitely modify. I'd love a Z06 too, but that's starting to get up there in price.

They were on the short list when I got the Mercedes. Add sloppy stage 2 cam, and a turbo, you're easily running 800 reliable hp.
Yeah man, those LS2's are pretty good. I'm debating if I'd add a roots blower, probably a Whipple, or go crazy and do a twin turbo build with a C5. I'd like for it to be a street beast which I'll occasionally drag, and then get a C6 Z06 to turn into a full blown track car, N/A.
I love blowers, but I think turbo is best for the ls motors.
blowers can be very limited in how much boost you can get from them. And they are expensive. I can get another 5 psi or so from mine with a pulley change but that's about it.

That's very true. I know with a twin turbo build I'll be making at least a thousand horsepower which would be a serious street competitor whereas a Whipple with like 800 is more like an unruly monster to screw around with since that's barely cutting it in racing now. I won't be skimping out either, so if I'm going to spend that kind of money then twin turbskies would be probably be better.
Too bad trailblazers had severe transmission problems with their 4L60Es and their Straight 5 engines were starved for power and major gas guzzlers, a huge step down from the 4.3L S-10 blazers they replaced. LS swaps are great but way way way to overused and boring. I like starting from the ground up with just the block like my current project, the good ol' 383 Stroker. I yanked a 350 4-bolt main, one piece seal out of a wrecked box van, shit had 15,000 original miles. Disassembled it down to the bare block, took it to my old workplace to get it magnafluxed, decked, honed and bored .030 over. Short block is assembled and the crank is balanced perfectly. Depending on what heads I slap on the compression should be 12:1. If all works out it should poop out 650-700 crank HP. Gonna drop it into my slightly lifted 85' K10 and rebuild the 400 2-bolt that's currently in the truck.

That's pretty sick man. I'm always down for some engine talk although I have zero experience whatsoever. I know I'll definitely be building race engines, whenever I get off my lazy ass and do something with myself. Of course, with a twin turbo C5 I'd have everything modified to hell and built from the block up. May or may not go with a full swap like a Texas Speed, and if I'm going to go that hardcore it may be worth it.
This. 4L60 is not good, 4L80 is what you want. But obviously I'll be using a T-56, for starters anyway unless I decide I want to make it a true drag car and put in a Powerglide which is definitely still among my ideas.

I'm not building an engine for economy and 12:1 is still safe with pump gas ie 93 octane, I'll be listening for detonation though. It doesn't matter what you put in the old chevy 4x4 squarebodies, they would always average about 6-12 mpg.
4L80's are basically 400 Turbos with an overdrive, damn things were downright impossible to destroy.
