Saved a tiny spider from my bath today as the water was running.
you did well user
Portia spider a best.
a very good hunter for sure, and a salticidae on top of that, lovely
The ruby chonk is pretty cute desu. I like their grumpy attitudes.
my favorite spood
i have to agree
I love Yellow Garden Spiders without a trace of irony. They're bright beautiful mamas and nobody can change my mind.
good one
oh how fascinating and beautiful......
KILL IT!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!
that ones scary
There is a web with very thin and smol spiders
They kill mosquitoes and at a time they killed a bee didn't want them to kill the bee but they are pretty based
damn forget to reply
funny big fluffy boi indeed
if you dont like a spooder, think about the fact that it eats nasty bugs
We have those all over the place in Korea. I fed them to a praying mantis I kept back in high school.
Phidippus Audax is best spider
always have a couple of these in my apartment
>3 years ago i had two of them in my bathroom. directly above the bathtub
>winter is long period of no insects but these two managed to look healthy
>both were medium sized and they were watching each other hungrily
>starting to shower
>finish shower
>spooder start to fite and i watch in amusement
>instant crash into deep bathing water
>keked as i was drying my hair
>i finished and observe in astonishment that both are walking slowly on the bathtub surface heading to water level
>obviously no chance to get through because surface tension
>decided to take them out
>took a comb and carefully took them out
>they looked like two piles of squashed mixed up spooder legs
>carefully dryed them a little. only water drops
>nothing moves and i thought theyre dead
>5 mins later i came back
>both piles are twitching and it gave me kek. those fuckers are still alive
>carefully helped them because legs were sticking together
>put them back on the wall, opposite side of room this time
>slow tired moves up to the ceiling
>and in the moment i thought this should have taught them a lesson they perceive each other again
>spontaneous changeover from exhausted to fully tense
>i laughed like 10 minutes and brought one into the kitchen
>very likely there brood still saves me from gnats in summer, only a few makes it through winter
true but not all spooders are made the same.
yea those are cool
that's why i like salticidaes, they're harmless to human, tiny, cute af, pretty smart, eat annoying bugs, dont put webs everywhere, and arent easily afraid by human (allowing observation, and even petting)
en.wikipedia.org
these are the only salticidae here. maybe there are smaller one ive never seen.
i really like how the seem to detect a hand and even a hole human when you are in the right spot and move towards them.
seem to be very smart.
wonder how such a big jumper behaves.
>salticidaes
im in the PNW and i haven't found one yet:(

Those are the best. I still think if they were cat size they'd be great pets. Mean while you've got these spooky fuckers. They don't do much but damn if they aren't intimidating.
