Hey Yea Forums if Genders exist shouldn't gender roles exist too?

Both gender and gender roles are human social constructs. Sexual Dimorphism exists, that's about all.

After many years on the internet, I've learned that no matter how dumb a statement or question, there are anons out there who are 100% convinced of that, and will fight with me over it no matter how dumb the arguments get.

Gender roles have allowed for the survival of the human race. It's only very recently that women could work the same jobs as men and mentally unstable men can pretend to be women. Life is so easy, everybody can do the bare minimum and still live.

If we see another extinction level event on planet earth, the traditional gender roles will resume. The strongest will thrive while the weak suffer.

Maybe in the stone ages when it could very well mean the difference between being wiped out and surviving. Keeping the women, the birthers, at home while the men, the seeders, are worked and fought till death? Sure, shit'll work. Provides labor, continuous reproduction of labor, and will generally create social castes. Look at rats, they function a lot like us, or maybe we are like them? Anyway, it worked. But now we have luxuries our ancestors could only dream of and our descendants will have greater luxuries than we could imagine. Our current technology levels allows from these gender roles to become more fluid and unisex, tho not completely. I still have issue with female soldiers and male strippers.

Arguing whether gender roles should or shouldn't exist is pretty pointless considering all known human societies have some version of them.
A much more interesting question is how variable are they, and to what extent they have been meddled with by the powerful to serve as another means of thought control.

Why would they? Races exist, does that mean racial roles should exist?

Why do so many people usually have pretty weird ideas about prehistoric men?
In nearly all human societies women do work as much as men do. Having children is far from being a full time job, especially if you live in a close community where everybody knows each other.

what about the reproduction ... males & females ... and the family unit as the most basic and solid fundamental for growing up healthy ... seems kind of hard to be ¨gender fluid¨and do those important things

Well if you're talking about soldiers being "manly" that might be right, but i would like to point out that men are generally speaking prone to be stupid so if they wouldn't go to war they would find other stupid ways to get killed.

Not really considering househusbands are becoming more popular and women are working in high status positions just as much as men are. The biggest, thickest line is Job Danger. Most women will not volunteer for military service or accept digging in a salt mine. And usually they were not expected to, even as slaves. You are stuck in the 50s and are probably younger than 20.

Can be, but not necessarily. Humans are complex and able to know themselves, which is why we differentiate between gender and sex. Yes, some sexes are better suited to certain jobs, but theres noting locking us to those parameters.

It is generally in your self-interest to survive, but not always. In any event, assuming you are the person I was originally talking to, you would need to show that gender roles are in your self-interest while racial roles would not be (unless you start arguing for racial roles).
