Blackout curtains and a white-noise machine used to help, but I've gotten used to them so now I just sleep even worse if they aren't there. I've tried melatonin and all that does is make me feel too exhausted to move but doesn't make me any sleepier.

Yup. My office is bringing in a new team from another floor so everyone's desks are getting shifted around. My boss told me it'd be easiest to just work from home until Monday and I've got basically 2 hours of work left to do before Monday.
I'm gonna be playing a LOT of Grim Dawn, which is fine by me because the newest DLC just launched today.

Yeah, I'm very lucky that my boss is firmly in the camp of "we're all salaried, if there's no reason to be here we should just leave". He's been there almost two years and says he hasn't worked an 8 hour shift the entire time.
I generally come into the office around 9:45 and leave before 4. It's great. I'm still ramping/training, so I don't doubt when shit hits the fan I'll be leaned on more, but it's still great.

That's why I bring a book to work. Gives me something to do when there's downtime or SQL is querying. But I get some offices want you "working" your entire shift even if there's nothing to do.
