Is it immoral to steal from big companies like Wal-mart if I give the money I would have spent to a children's hospital?
I finished paying for my gas and afterwards I realized that the gas station attendant charged me $20 instead of the $60 I used and I'm thinking about just living by this philosophy and whenever I pirate media or get away with something similar I just donate that money to a charity.
does it even matter lets say if i had to steal food to live i was in a bad situation id argue anyone would do that if they was in that situation id rather steal from a company like a walmart over a small home town business because huge corporate entities are cunts for towns just steal the shit dude they can take the losses

So first, giving money to charity doesn’t make stealing right.
That said, I pirate media all the time because the cost to the producer for the copy that I download is non existent. IF AND ONLY IF the movie or album or game or whatever ends up being something that I like then I will buy an actual copy to support the publisher so that they make more of what I like. That is my moral code. The act of pirating the media is still wrong but that’s the only way I can deal with the fact that so much crap is produced nowadays.

I have a code for stealing and it's simple. Never steal from an individual. No mugging people at the ATM, no theft from a house or car and no theft from a mom n pop style shop either because it affects them personally.
Whatever I steal only affects me because what I steal doesn't have to be replaced by a person. There's no "oh shit our TV has been taken. Now we have to go and spend $2000 we can't afford on a new one". If I wanted a TV I'd steal one from Walmart.
No employee is affected if you steal from a company that makes millions or billions in profit. However if you sell things you steal for say half price, you are affecting the people you sell to in a positive way. Broke people with kids appreciate half price goods especially if it's going to be a gift for their kids birthday.

This is the right answer. When you take something without paying for it, the question then becomes "Who have I taken from?" These mega corporations aren't people and the amount of profit that has nothing to do with their products is enormous. They're able to bleed advantages from the system that no individual could ever imagine, and because of their size they're completely unaffected by these losses. Taking the time to pursue any of it is more expensive than the loss itself unless it's a dead-to-rights case.
Just remember: if it's on sale at walmart or target or what have you then it's already been bought and paid for by the store itself. The item is so far removed from the originator that literally not a single individual is impacted.
