The best I can think of is: probability = frequency x time
Obviously the "probability" number won't actually be a value in between 0 and 1 but it will help compare theoretical probabilities of "it" happening in different scenarios against each other. I'm not really a statistician, so I'm not even sure my terminology is correct. But I did find this video if it helps: youtube.com

the book provides different proofs for variable and discrete functions, as well as some complex stochastic models for a wide variety of interesting usage cases, with all the necessary proofs and mathematical groundwork
it's a short text, but extremely dense, in theory I think you only need a good grasp of calculus to understand it, but like I said I have trouble following after the first chapter or so

Rip, then idk what to tell you. There has to be some way to "normalize" the frequency and time variables so they always produce a number from 0-1 for probability. Most likely done though that "elegant differential equation" mentioned earlier. Sort of how we take force and turn in into stress based on specific conditions like geometry, material, stress concentration factors, fatigue, etc. then compare those stresses with sets of standards. But you can't compare force to stress standards directly, it just makes no sense. You need to "normalize" the forces into stress values first.

Alright, I found out about the Poisson distribution which allows computing a probability for x events over y interval given a frequency of those events, but it's the chance that the event will happen a given number of times; not that it will happen at least once.
I suppose I could do a 1-infinity integral.
