yeah, that'll work. anything from islay, really.

i can't stand those sweet whiskies without peat and salt. if i want a sweet drink, i'll have a cognac, thank you very much.

tried a lot, always get back to this

Attached: Lagavulin_16YO.jpg (776x1176, 72K)

That one exactly

Favorite low price glenfidditch 12 (local store often has discounts where it goes down to 20/bottle)

Ardbeg and Lagavulin 16 for islays

Snobby bastard

Thank you!
Some asshole suggested Ardbeg to me. Worst $80 I ever spent, knowing the Lagavulin was right there next to it in the store.
So much for blowing money on a suggestion.

That when I can afford it. Other than that an Ardbeg or Talisker 10. Glenlivet occasionally.

Kavalan

It's technically not Scotch because it's from Taiwan. But, it's great.

I buy Ardbeg 10 for a tad under $50. What the hell did you buy?

$80 doesn't sound right. Also be wary of any recommendations in a liquor store. I work in one and sell more bullshit than liquor.

>795816419
Ardbeg and Laphroaig have been my go-to's lately. I'm normally a bourbon guy but Islay Scotch is so damn good.

Attached: IMG_0433.jpg (526x960, 84K)

Whichever one is on sale at the LC.

A wood fire, a comfy chair, and two fingers of a good single malt. Better than sex, or maybe not.

My go to is usually JW Blue Label or their 18 year but my favourite I have tried is Glenfiddich Winter Storm.

No, definitly not.

Really hard to go wrong with the Lasanta.

Attached: glenmorangie-lasanta-12-year-old-whisky.jpg (575x1000, 29K)

Holy shit, a civilized thread on Yea Forums.
This calls for a drink.

Can one of you richfags give me money. Only scotch I can afford is ballentines.

Ardbeg 10 is my favorite, too. I haven't had a huge selection, but I know I like islay the best.

Glenfiddich 21 gran reserva is fucking excellent in my book. That said the rum cask finish makes it taste way different that pretty much any other scotch I've had, so definitely try before you buy if you have that option.

Attached: gfdob.21yov8.jpg (900x1200, 335K)

Actually, I live under a bridge, but I'm a very picky derelict

It's called whisk.

Only tourists call it scotch.

Just looked up the tasting notes, sounds like something I would enjoy. Adding it to the list!

Whiskey*

And it actually is called Scotch outside of Scotland to differentiate it from other whiskeys such as bourbon

Proper fookin twelve you dum rat

Glenlivet and Glenfiddich 12 year. I've tried them all, and those are best.

Attached: glen.png (320x1030, 457K)

Glenlivet 18 is hard to beat, but I usually go for the 12 due to price. Glenfiddich is also good as is the Balvenie. Thank God some troll hasn't rolled up in here with Chivas.

agreed.. very nice

Glenfiddich 12 is for me the best on single malts quality/cost. And, on the blended I prefer the johnnie walker

Glenfiddich 50 year malt is on sale this month, only $37,500

Iv always wanted to try this, can you describe the taste in great detail, also that ten year bottle is like 59 bucks round my way

Attached: Screenshot_20190318-141053_Instagram.jpg (1080x1338, 697K)

Whisky is always from Scotland.

Whiskey is from anywhere else. Only idiot don't know this.

When I drink ill pound a quart in a night, I can't afford anything over 30$ unless it's 151

just look up the tasting notes fam.

It tastes like wood ash and salt. Seriously, the peat smoke overpowers everything else.

"Only idiot don't know this." ...and yet you do.

#metoo, Bourbon seems dirty since i discovered scotch.

Talisker

Attached: 91HbJE3skoL._SY445_.jpg (276x445, 23K)

So fucking second this, this is LOVE in a bottle my Yea Forumsros

My favourite is
> Laphroaig QC ..... [ = "Quarter Cask" ]
at 48% ABV ; have got a bottle of it on one of my optics behind my bar, and an unopened bottle hidden in a cupboard.

> Lagavulin 16
comes in at a close second mainly because it is more expensive, but is in no way better than the Laphroaig QC.

I also like to keep a bottle of George & J G Smith's Glenlivet cask strength at about 60% ABV hidden in the Laphroaig cupboard.

Unfortunately, I have not drunk any of them for nearly three weeks, because I have given up alcohol for Lent.

why not both?

Attached: 467424-c1b55985f17704401a34c740b6ecdca9.jpg (225x225, 11K)

Yet we have a thread full of American cunts calling is "whiskey".

Mah nigga

I prefer rye

Attached: Alberta Premium.jpg (960x1280, 115K)

The new gen of Macallan 12yr is at least 5 times better than its precursor

Attached: the-macallan-12-year-old-double-cask-whisky.jpg (600x903, 26K)

best scotch there is.

scotch is a pussies drink

Says the skint fuck who knows nothing.

There's room for both. I'd never give up Elijah Craig or Russell's Reserve.

Islay scotches taste and smell like bandaids. Nasty nasty nasty shit.

Attached: macob.18yo.jpg (900x1200, 448K)

had some irish whiskey today, scotch aint bad though

Attached: the-sexton-single-malt-irish-whiskey-ireland-10922421.jpg (450x600, 68K)

>blended
>best
Fucking noob.

It's called peat. And just cause you can't stomach it doesn't make it bad.

Attached: F576A530-9FCA-4EE6-97E0-526CCF315056.jpg (3024x1305, 1.23M)

I got a bottle of Glenlivet 18 on my 18th birthday, from friends. Made it last a few years. When it ran out I got another. I've always kept a bottle around from then on. Will be 30 soon, but don't think I'll be getting a 30y.o. :(
I have tried the 21y.o. though & that's delicious.

Hating on someone else's whisky preference will get you fucked in a real whisky bar. Sit down kid.

Bourbon is better.Only American made. Not for Europe pussies.

This

>real whisky bar

thats why you drink alcohol at home instead of being some faggot hipster who drinks at
"whiskey bars"

J&B

i haven't completely given up. here is my latest purchase.

Attached: img_4721.jpg (1386x1902, 200K)

>only american made

spotted the trumptard, you do realize one of the most popular bourbons sold out to the chinese because they understand that americans are to fat and lazy to work for a living right?

Very strong peat, medicinal/TCP/Iodine, sea breeze. Quite a thin body. It's an acquired taste. I like peaty whisky's, but I find this a bit of a challenge to drink due to the medicinal character & lack of sweetness.

It's "whisky", try to keep up spastic. And I drink I'm real whisky bars because I live in Scotland and that's 75% of all decent bars here. Also only poor people drink at home.

Monkey shoulder is pretty alright, bought it many times. Recently discovered Grangestone blended (my first and only Islay so far) and fucking love it.

I'm assuming too is the correct spelling you were searching for?

You dipshit, you can only call it Bourbon if it's made in a very specific area of the United States. Bourbon is a protected national product.

I love it when Americans call think how re come from a region! Keep buying and fueling the economy fuck.

holy shit your an idiot, suntory bought the company who makes jim beam.americans really are fucking retarded,go figure your president is a complete moron who cant even speak the english language correctly

Attached: 5cd.jpg (400x462, 26K)

not that it matters, half of america are socialist morons and the other half are trailer park welfare queen rednecks.america is not the country for people who want to work for a living anymore

img.thewhiskyexchange.com/900/abfob.12yov1.jpg

Clan MacGregor.

If you believe that split, you might be dumber than the whole world assumes Americans are...

next on my list

min state pricing here is $46

I've never been that impressed with Macallan (though I haven't tried the older ones, due to price), given the price. It's good, but not worth what they charge for it. I feel like people just pay a premium for the name.

Who gives a fuck if japs own the company? If it matters where it's made what does that change?

"Americans pay the premium" don't be so dense.

>who cares if japs own the company

coming from the country that chants about buying american, its not american if the company is owned by gooks.dumbass

Yeah, and they aren't calling it bourbon if it's made in japan you twat. I didn't say only Americans can make it, I said It can only be called Bourbon if it's made in the Bourbon Belt.

This for when I'm feeling fancy. Im usually an irish whiskey drinker but have found a few highland scotches that are nice.

Attached: dlmob.18yo.jpg (900x1200, 105K)

You know cognac is literally brandy, made in a place called cognac?
It's a French scam to take niggers money

No one even brought up Jim Beam in this thread except you dumb dumb.

I dunno exactly what you're saying but hey if something is in my price range and taste's good i'm buying it.

Good choice OP, I'll slide my fav in here

Attached: lrgob.10yov1.jpg (900x1200, 288K)

Im Scottish btw, japs own tons of Scottish whisky.

Also you've no idea what most Americans think about where shit is made.

like licking a fireman's boot

I'll take this shit

Attached: glenfarclas-10-year-old-whisky.jpg (600x926, 31K)

glenmorangie

hey fucktard, the company is owned by japanese people.i never said the god damn bourbon was made in japan

fuck your retarded,go figure why people stereotype americans as being stupid

I'm telling you there no such thing as an "Islay" blend. Stop saying things like that it makes you sound dumb as fuck.

>you've no idea what most americans think about where shit is made

yeah, some faggot scottish person thinks a guy who's lived in america his entire life has no idea.why dont you go hike your skirt(i mean kilt)up and fuck a sheep now

I've tried the single barrel and liked it a lot. I'll have to give this a whirl.

And it still doesn't fucking matter, no one cared when you said it the first time you dumb fucking child. Go back to grammar school.

my favorite. great taste and doesn't break the bank

Attached: 20190324_210056.jpg (1884x3420, 829K)

Sheep fucking is a Welsh pastime, not a Scottish one. A Scottish pastime would be eating haggis and injecting heroin

You've never met most Americans. You've met less than .1% of Americans. You're that small. Anything else you believe comes from the media about your own country.

That has never been true
You are citing an urban myth
If you need proof, Look at the label on a bottle of Canadian club

Heroin capita of Europe baby. And these tiny yanks still buy our whisky! Also aberdonians fuck sheep too.

Tell me more about how canadians can't spell?

Attached: cq5dam.web.1280.1280.jpg (960x1280, 72K)

I'm in the UK. That's my point though, the price is inflated, even here in the UK, because it's a brand that American businessmen want to have on their desk, just to show off, even if they know little about whisky.
It's a decent malt, I like it, but for the same price, or less, i can get others that I much prefer.

Did it honestly take you 2 mins to Google a picture club?

Some of my favourites are:

Bruichladdich Port Charlotte
Bruichladdich Classic Laddie
Dalwhinnie 15
Glenfarclas 15
Glenlivet 15 French Oak Reserve
Glenfiddich 21
Laphroig 10
Aberlour A'bunadh

How much do you pay for a bottle in England?

Favourite to keep beer company is writers tears

Attached: download.jpg (194x259, 11K)

Can you explain why there's no such thing as that? The bottle I got LITERALLY said "Islay Blended Scotch" on it.

Another beer coupling favourite is Templeton Rye, but now rare in UK

Attached: download (2).jpg (190x266, 7K)

Nice deflection from the proof that youre repeating untrue bullshit show insulting others for not knowing your untrue bullshit

This started happening when Distilleries started to release "Islay" whiskies that aren't actually made on the Isle of Islay. Islay are distinct in the way they matured with the non-chill filtering typically, the water of the Isle of Islay and the specific grain they use that comes from the Isle of Islay.
Those "Islay Blends" are not the real deal.

It said that so you'd pay a premium. It was 1 part constituent Islay malt, potentially .001%. of the total. You got conned.

You say deflection, I say lack of enforcement. It's a common enough convention that you can't cute a single other break in it.

Also a shout out for The Sherbourne in Cork, best range (300+) of Irish whiskies I've ever seen. Served by knowledgeable geysers.

Attached: download (1).jpg (318x159, 11K)

Around £40 for the 10y.o.
For about the same I can get Lagavulin 16

Rolling on this point about Whisky and Whiskey (Whisky is only Scotch just so we can all get that clear), most ryes aren't actual Ryes in Canada. Very few actually use Rye in the distilling process or use a blend in order to get Rye into the bottle (Looking at you Crown Royal)

¿Gran Reserva?

Scots don't use the E, because they never have. Anywhere else uses either.
It's not a rule like you think it is, and sperging out calling people spastics is pretty rich when you aren't even correct in what you're screeching

The only thing worse than a whisky snob, is a whiskey tard

Roughly £15/20 more than here. Depends how much you wanna shop around.

It was the Irish who taught the Scots to make whiskey. Also, thanks to the invention of the wheelbarrow, how to walk on their hind legs.

Buddy, it took you more that long to tack on a joke that bad? Say what you liked but the naming convention is something you can't fight other then dumb Canadians, Who make good booze.

I had some Tasmanian whiskey some years ago. Made in the Scottish tradition. It was surprisingly good.

Now that's going too far, regardless of the trips.

My faves if I have money to spend on them:

Lagavulin 16
Glen Dronach 18
Hazelburn 12
Balvenie 14 Rum Cask
Talisker 18

Right now, I'm on a Monkey Shoulder budget.

Australian

I'm seeing a load of brands that mature their booze in Scotland here, what's your point?

Thanks for the info, didn't know that

I wouldn't exactly say its is a premium when it's on par to what Dewars costs

Distiller's Edition and 12 (though cask strength isn't a fair comparison) are both better imo, but you really can't go wrong with that one,.

French

fantastic bang for the buck.
Along those lines, Arran Port Cask doesn't get nearly enough love.

Wanna guess how much it costs in Scotland for an average blend?

Agreed, will go back to it once this is finished

Attached: lagavulin-12-year-old-special-release-2015-whisky.jpg (600x903, 24K)

Deflecting again.
Proof of your claims being made up, so you point at a dog instead
You were wrong
Deal with it

You're just proving me right by this point. Take a boo wee man.

Doing this much googling without bothering to research is just embarrassing. You know considerably less than you think you do.

yall need a shot of fireball to calm your nerves.

The Arran 12 wasn't a bad one either. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it for the price tag

We have really bad taxes here (WA). Leftover nanny-ism from the Scandinavians.

It seems there's a lot of proof that whisky made outside of Scotland does use the word whisky.
Don't forget that your claim was that any whisky not made in Scotland has to be called whiskey.
That claim is factually incorrect

noobs

Attached: sb12.jpg (521x600, 25K)

I Googled Grangestone and it's a Highland single malt, not a blend. Just sayin'.

Huh. Never done that. I'll take your word for it.

Are you threatening me?

I run a liquor store
I've been to the limeburners distillery, which produced whisky, and it's not in Scotland
That single example prove a your claim wrong.
You cannot argue this point anymore

mahniggah.jpg
that stuff is otherworldly

Take 5 mins and look up where all the whisky's you listened get matured. You're gonna be super embarrassed once you realised how fucking thick you are.

I was in India for 2 weeks. ended up with the John Paul "Brilliance", Amrut Fusion, and Amrut Amalgam. Good stuff.

Probably a lot fuckin cheaper than here in the states, I envy the scots, they make good liquor AND ale

Still meaning to get my hands on some Longrow.

Suntory own jim beam, but it's still made in the states. It legally HAS TO be made in the states to be called bourbon.

Thats my home town, though i do prefer the longrow ones.

You threw this retarded shit fit because user said "only american made" and then called Suntory a chinese company you fucking imbecile.

Almost nothing given property and land here are cheap as shit ?

Laphroaig QC is my personal favorite, too

I enjoy Lagavulin but no way is it worth the premium you pay for it over any Laphroaig

If you think that's how it works, it's already to late son.

Probably because because we don't give two fucks.

You said from, not aged in
The claim you made was wrong
Stop crying and accept it
If you send a newly made Ford to Scotland for 8 years, that doesn't make it a Scottish car

Stay ignorant. It helps the Scottish economy.

off to see the Wizard?

I come from a Scottish whisky family ...
When we wanted to expand, do you know the difficulty we had, it took almost the same amount of time as buying a house. Given its exactly the same thing.

So you just know fuck all about whisky? Or do you only pretend to be this fucking stupid?

I assume youre thinking of kentucky straight bourbon. Bourbon can be made anywhere in the united states as long as it's >51% corn and aged in new charred oak barrels for 2+ years

this is just sad now
stop posting

Talisker is beautiful! It tastes like peat moss and seaweed!

Sure there is. If it's blended with only whiskies made on islay it certainly could be called that.

just ignore him,he's a fuckin idiot.i was talking about the people who own the company jim beam.not where the bourbon is actually made

If land and property are "so cheap" then why did it cause a problem?
And what "whisky family" are you pretending to be from?

So desperate to be correct over a factually incorrect claim...

But that would only be something spastics would do. They can sell it to moron foreigners at less then 1% and charge 50% more. Why sell a pure blend?

Attached: 7967392897.jpg (908x1586, 137K)

So it's almost zero? Cool.

Stay American buddy.

I felt the sarcasm in my statement was self evident but apparently not, WE had the same trouble as buying a house because you simply buy the property. The only real investment required is the maturing time. Even then a small start up will only cost maybe 250k a year, hardly a huge investment considering even start ups pull about 33% profit AND THAT ONLY GOES UP.

Agreed
Always keep an 18 year old in the house.

Taking a while there bud, family name is Mitchell by the way. I presume from The format of you're posts you are the same person who asked.

The laphroiag QC is my favorite too, lagavulin 12, aberlour abunadh, bunnahabain are very good too
