Alright b what the fuck is this

Alright b what the fuck is this.
Backstory: in August, I got a job that required us to wear all black shoes. I went out and got some slip on sport shoes and it worked fine, until about a month in I noticed my big toes hurting a lot. No visible surface damage, just soreness. I guess they were too small. I got new shoes in around November and they're fine, my left toe is fine, but my right has gotten worse. Minor aching at all times, hurts when touched. The red mass on the left of the nail is solid, and what I assume is exposed smooth muscle. It's not an ingrowth I'm pretty sure, I've browsed Google images multiple times and they don't look like this. Help please, this is fucking annoying.

I have been putting Rexall spray hydrogen peroxide on it, waiting about five minutes, and wiping it off about 2 times a day for the past week, but nothing has changed. I think it might even be eating away at the skin around it. It's not even that painful unless I'm standing for a while, it's just gross.

I had the same thing and got it cut out in hospital with some kind of laser

Oh fantastic that doesn't sound expensive at all.

OH DUDE I HAD THAT

its an ingrown toenail... fucking seriously you need a doc to go in there and fix it. IT WILL GET WORSE if it is not taken care of.

Basically they gotta numb the area and cut out the nail that is digging into your flesh of the toe. Its not a big deal but yeah man go to a doc to do it because it hurts like a motherfucker without them numbing it.... plus once you cut out the nail you will need pain meds for like 2-3 days. Dont do what I did thinking it was going to go away... your nail keeps growing and it will go right through your flesh.

Once a doc sees it your toe will heal quickly idk like 1-2 weeks? i dont remember but i had it done 3 times and finally the doc did a permenent acid thing so my to doesnt grow the nail on the very edge of the toe so my big toes nail are more narrow... you prolly wont need that but I did because it kept happening. Never came back after that acid thing dont remember what its called. They numbed it all up tho so it was all good

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why health care for all is so important.

no bitch, socialism = shitty doctors = shitty care = shitty people = shitty economy = shit.

and capitalism = big dick energy

Hey tankie fag, if the government wasn't regulating the healthcare industry to death it would be much cheaper and the services would be a lot better as doctor's and health insurance and pharmaceutical companies would actually have to compete for your money

This, it’s progressed from an ingrown nail to an infection. Go to an urgent care, they’ll take it off for $100 w/o insurance and give you $30 worth of antibiotics to keep your foot from falling off. Maybe even a couple of Vicodins if you aren’t above crying and wailing like a baby.

It doesn’t hurt that bad. The numbing shots hurt worse than actually prying the nail off.

OP, listen up, I had my toenail removed several times by the doctor, but everytime it grows back, it becomes fucked again. So here's what I do now.

1: Grab a pair of tweezers and a pair of scissors/ toenail clippers.
2: Make a vertical cut at the topside of your toe-nail, both left and right.
3: Pull it out of the nailbed with the tweezers (this hurts like hell, but don't be a faggot).
4: ???
5: Profit. Be ready to do this every 6 months btw.

Ingrown toenail, probably caused by your new shoes. If it's too small, it can put a lot of pressure on the side of your toe and nail, and cause that kind of injury. You'll have to cut out the part of the nail that's pretty much digging into your flesh. It can be pretty tricky and painful as fuck to thoroughly do it on your own without a doctor. Leaving it alone will just lead to infection.

If money is an issue, consider going to a small clinic or urgent care instead of a hospital.

I hope you kinda understand what I mean. English is not my native language. Yes your toe is infected btw, but the infection will pass when the irritation caused by your nail is gone. Just make sure to use sterilized equipment and to rinse thoroughly afterwards.

yep i wrote that and yeah man the numbing shots are what hurts the most... after it will be ok... just take the pain meds and keep them near u when u sleep because i remember waking up when the meds wore off and i had to walk to the other end of the house and that was insane lol

exactly why i had the acid treatment and never had one since

Also, this shit right here is why you have a problem. That and your long, fat toes but fuck if you can fix that.

Cut your nails straight, not into a curve.

Recurring ingrown nails don't happen to everyone. I'm pretty sure this just has to do with OP's shoes

Must REALLY suck for you though

Looked it up, sounds interesting man. I'll see if I can get it here, got free healthcare anyway. It'd be great to not have to cut my fucking toenail like that anymore haha

He can atleast remove his current one like this.

Yeah, it'll still work. I did something similar for myself

yeah, after it heals the toe looks fine but the nail will be a little less wide. Unless I told someone they wouldnt even notice because it looks normal

I’ve had one get infected like this before and while I could afford a doctors visit, I didn’t have to. It was a long time ago but I think I filled a tupperware with salt water and any time I was sitting at home on my pc I let my foot soak in it. After 5 days to a week it looked somewhat better, and it wasn’t sensitive so I could carefully pull the ingrown part of the nail out. It was kinda like a loose tooth, it got looser and then eventually I pulled it out without pain. Healed fast. Don’t bother with the doctor unless it gets worse even with the salt water

Ingrowing toenail. Just go see a doctor, the procedure takes less than five minutes and doesn't hurt that much. They just get some plier-looking nail clippers and cut out the part that's digging in. I had one that was growing in for about three months, and hurt whenever I touched it or walked in steelcaps (I have to due to working in workshop). I got it removed two days ago and now it's basically ok.

Do you think it will come back if you continue wearing the same shoes? Not
because of the infection but just because of the bad fit?

(not OP)

also had this when i was younger over 3 years it happened to a few toes, now down to 6 toenails. they hurt like shit

Pic = me before surgery to remove toe nails.

They did mine with a scalpel, the worst part was the anesthesia needle entering the toe

not everyone has those kinda balls... having a doc do it is much nicer LOL.

Doing this is what CAUSES ingrown toenails.
OP do not do this

day after

Attached: 2.jpg (3104x1746, 257K)

Ingrown. Let mine go shitty like that for my entire high school life. Just yank it if you're some poorfag.

2 weeks after

4 weeks

Attached: 4.jpg (3104x1746, 1.44M)

Dayum

yeah that looks way worse than what op or i had lol

6 weeks

about 8 weeks in total to fully heal and for the first 2 weeks i had to wear darco shoes (google them) and use crutches at school and wanted to kms

This. I keep on top of doing it, as well as keeping the nail really short. Mine thankfully don’t do all the way to the nail bed, so I only have to pull a corner off.
It hurts, but I kinda like it...

Could be a fungus, google Jungle rot.

my big toes are still fucked though, they now grow a slither of toenail directly upwards in the corner of my toe

That looks like my toe sometimes... fucking hurts when someone treads on it.
