Mueller's team was tasked to find evidence of Russian collusion, that was their mandate. To go after Trump for potential obstruction of justice, would be outside of the scope of the special counsel. Mueller made the right choice to hand it off to the AG.

It ended as expected, honestly. You don't spend that long digging as deep as he does and have it end calmly but also with an incredible indictment. There were leaks fucking everywhere and nothing against Trump himself was popping up.

I disagree about the pardons, though. The investigation was never going to get Trump, any non-Kool aid drunk person knew that. But it's also obvious that influence campaigns DID take place, just in regards to other people around Trump. And that's exactly what has come up. Turkey, Russia, etc. a lot of countries had their hands in the pot and the people they used were found out and indicted.
