They make armor-piercing high explosive rounds for the .50 BMG rifle but it’s a seperate tax stamp per bullet ($200) for destructive devise plus cost of the bullet ($65 a round)

That is not armor piercing ammunition. That is an M855A1 NATO 5.56 round. It is the new version of the standard issued ammunition for NATO countries to be used in their standard battle rifles, replacing the old "green tip" round. It has a penetrator but is not considered armor piercing.

False. Almost any high velocity rifle round will penetrate a "kevlar vest", armor piercing ammunition is ammunition that can penetrate ceramic plate and steel armor. Kevlar vests, aka "soft armor" is designed to stop pistol and low velocity rifle ammunition as well as shrapnel and flack. It is not really armor.
