Aight Yea Forums I need some doctor my advice. I drove a really long time like 18 hours the other day and I was feeling fine for about 9 hours and I had an energy drink, as soon as I finished it my heart started skipping beats and hitting hard right after. I thought it was just the caffeine but it’s been going on for 2 days straight and I don’t know what to do. Thinking about going into ER tomorrow if it doesn’t stop. I’m only 22 and I’m very active and healthy. Any advice?

I've been dealing with the EXACT same thing for about 2 months now. I went in to see a cardiologist and he shaved my chest and put a heart monitor on me. I wore it for 2 weeks. I got back in to see him in a few days in fact.. going to get my results and see what the fuck is up with my heart....

Mine does this regular beat then it gets fucked up.. it kind of pauses then hits HARD like you described, then resets all over again. It's like:

bump bump.. bump bump... bump.................................BUMP... bump bump... bump bump... bump............................................BUMP.... bump bump...

So yeah.. I know what you're going through and yes, it is scary. I would suggest making a cardiologist appointment as soon as you can.

energy drinks are bad for you

That’s what’s i feel, and on that really hard bump I feel it in my chest and my throat, almost like my body is shocking itself back to life. I’m currently 1300 miles away from home so i might just see the ER but that’s a perfect description of what I feel

Dr's Best Magnesium. Chelated. Get it. 2 a day.

Everyone is magnesium deficient. You'll fee 200% better and coffee and caffeine won't fuck with you as much.

I had some pretty bad panic attacks due to energy drinks, please stop for your own sake

See that’s the thing, this is probably my first caffeine heavy drink I’ve had in weeks probably, other then a soft drink here and there. That’s why it caught be off guard as a pretty healthy person that I have this issue. Even now just laying in bed every 30 seconds feels like my heart pumps me back to life

I get that too when I'm working out, specifically cardio. The way I see it if I can't swim that just means that's as far as I got in life, I'm going to die eventually anyway so fuck it, at least I can die knowing I died by getting a really good workout

What's "the thing"? What part of magnesium deficient did you misunderstand?

It's called palpitations. Everyone had them. Welcome to being 25 and older.

Well, I listened user. I'll look into that

Might be palpations but definetly go to a doctor to make sure. I had to wear a heart monitor when I was 21 becusee I kept getting a weird feeling in my chest. Cardiologist told me that the rhythm was fine and no signs of heart issues but I still get the weird feeling from time to time.

I notice it happens when I eat a lot (buffet level) and when I sit to much in my chair. I think it has something to do with the chest being compressed all day.

I avoid pc gaming and I feel perfectly fine. If your sitting too much in a day it could be what's causing it.

Just to add my close friend mentions that he gets the same feeling. He's pretty healthy and fit and we both play pc games together for hours on end. That's why I think it's being inactive and titled in a chair that causes most of the problems.

Could also be stress or any medication you're taking. If your heart palpitations have been going on multiple days though you should talk to a doctor, yes. Make an appointment; it's not an emergency unless you're showing other signs of a stroke or heart attack or anything like that.

>magnesium deficient
Kind of how I started. Went to several specialists and all came back "fine". After a trip to the hospital and $6k later they still found nothing. A few months of research and tried a few different magnesium options just to see. Chelated was what worked and solve 98% of my issues. I'm 795672032.

Get some and give it just a day or two. If you're under 50 you don't have a heart issue. You'd know by like 8 years old if you did. You're getting older and things become more pronounced. Magnesium deficient is like the #1 issue out there. Not sure if it can be a health issue. But it is used in all major body functions. You notice your heart pretty easily I guess.

And go to the gym and dont' be a fat bata fuck!

Atrial fibrilation.
Go to your doctor, though he will likely send you to ER. It isn't an emergency, but that's where you'll end up anyway.
They'll put some electrodes on your chest to measure your heart rate, and have you lie down for a while to monitor it.
They'll give you a medication to stop it after about an hour.
It isn't serious, especially given your age. Are you physically fit?
The reason it happened was because of the long time awake, followed by the sudden burst of caffeine from the energy drink, it set part of your heart out of rhythm, known as arrhythmia. It should go away on its own. Avoid caffeine completely, eat regular meals, if you eat one large heavy meal that really fills you up, it might stop. You can also try holding your breath and 'bearing down', which can reset it. Rest usually fixes it.
The only precaution you might want to take is an asprin every 8-12 hours, to thin your blood slightly and avoid any potential blood clots. Not really a high risk unless you are 60-70 years old.
See your doc though. Always take your heart seriously.

If he walks for 30+ minutes a day at a good, even pace, about 85% of his maximum without straining himself, then it should help to regulate his heart.
Also take magnesium, like the other guy said. Cod liver oil helps too.

The triggers are usually a combination of some of the following:
1. emotional stress
2. tiredness
3. not having eaten enough
4. lack of cardio fitness, walking briskly 30 minutes a day is a good start
5. caffeine from coffee/chocolate/energy drinks
6. sudden physical exertion without warming up
7. sudden changes in temperature, very cold or very hot

The swimming might be from the water being too cold and you not warming up gradually. If you let yourself acclimatise to the water temperature for ten or fifteen minutes, and gradually build up your pace, without going beyond 85% of your maximum effort, you should be alright.

Fucking abandoned threads all the time.

Irregular heartbeat can make clots that float into your lungs or brain. Take aspirin to avoid clots. The ones in your lungs make you cough and your chest hurt. The ones in your brain cause strokes. Both need IMMEDIATE medical attention.

Looks into PotS its a thats causes chest pain, palpitations, anxiety, increased heart rate all sorts of shit. Its harmless but generally uncomfortable

It’s probably just anxiety bro. You can’t feel every heart beat but when your PAYING attention to your heart it’s going to trigger a stress response. I thought the exact same thing was happening to me but my heart would just start beating harder because the adrenaline I was feeding my heart through my shitty habit (stressful rumination, energy drink, poor diet, low exercise). When they put me on a heart monitor they were pretty saying this to me: “look here you fucking retard, your heart is not skipping beats or stopping or irregular... it’s fucking fine because your body is calm now that you know you’re in a hospital”

To sum it up op... you’re a giant pussy and you need to grow up and start taking care of yourself. But by all means go see your doctor... just don’t ducking waste the ERs time with your whiny “I’m scared of dying. Hurr durr I’m 22 and in great shape I’m dying hurrrrr”

And whatever is bothering you (insecurities, fucked up porn, shortcomings) sort that shit out cause the stress will fuck with your heart.

Fucking moron.
