Beards are the male version of accessory. For women it's clothes and jewelry, for men it's beard. For both, it trying to overcompensate for not feeling like you're good enough as you already are.
That's what makes beards more feminine than masculine, because they just serve as decoration. Women are the only ones who should be worrying about decorating themselves to appeal to the opposite sex.

Tome it kinda shapes my ugly facea bit and makes it little longer.
It's also low maintenance compared to clean shave, all it takes is few strokes with a comb and some oil every now and then.
In the winter it provides some sort of protection, like built in scarf, just perfectly fitted to my face. In summer it kinda shades my face and neck from sun (I have very pale skin, so every little bit of protection counts)
Also caressing my beard kinda helps me think.
