I have to agree, composite feels and looks like shit. However it is lighter weight, requires less maintenance and also not as visible to enemies, all of which are pro's.

I was hard torn between a 1911 and a 92FS. I guess I'm weird because I actually really like da/sa, the higher capacity was nice too. Both are fantastic though and I saw there's a double stack 1911 now, I have to hold one to see how much of a beast it is. I have pretty big hands, but something tells me it's going to be too girthy for this lad.

double stack 1911 takes away the whole purpose of a 1911, one of it's superior attributes is how thin it is.

But now that ive had the opportunity to try many guns, i can say that i like the weight, look, feel, pretty much everything about the 1911 more than any other pistol/revolver ive tried. Heres mine. Another thing i forgot to mention is that its super accurate amd reliable. BUT you do have to clean it after every use to keep it that way. Which I dont mind. I had to crop the shit out of the original pic because apparently the file size was too large so sorry if it comes out small or low res.

1911 is very a e s t h e t i c there's no doubt but glocks are very well made and reliable too. Glocks are to guns as crocks are to shoes; they're ugly and utilitarian but they always work and can take a beating. A 1911 is like a nice pair of leather loafers

Not the guy you replied to, but i can see how caliber would affect quick shot placement. The less of a kick, the less time you spend readjusting. So i guess a .22 is the best for quick shot placement by that logic. I prefer .45 acp

i have a Walther PPQ M2. it's kinda analogous to a G19 but with a more ergonomic grip and diff sight arrangement.
