Why does everyone suck these games cock. Not trying to shit on anyone, they're not bad games but I genuinely don't see why they get so much praise
It shouldve been San Andreas I got the two mixed up
I prefer 2, maybe because im young
For many people it was their first taste of a more open world game, and ontop of that it was realllly good for its time. Which is probably why.

damn, i've been playing Earthbound on the DS. ever think they'll bring Mother 3 to DS?
Honest question, how old are you two.
I'm not trying to be a dick.
I'm actually curious.

Civilization 1. Almost failed to graduate because of it.
honorable mention to Age of Empires. Made me quit gaming
Starsiege: Tribes
Only shooter with actual jetpacks that let you fly way up while using non-hitscan weapons so you had to lead your shots. Also the server browser is so much better than "matchmaking"
I’m going to say Breath of the wild. Then maybe the original Legend of Zelda on NES.
I’m currently loving Hollow Knight.

Link's Awakening (First played in HS, fell in love)

dark souls
yakuza kiwami
bloodborne

FUCKIN kek i remember those fuckers.
Amnesia is far from the "Best" Horror game imo. Yes, it has some great mechanics, but the company tried the same exact gameplay style with SOMA and look how that turned out. Try Afraid Of Monsters, Cry Of Fear, and imo S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is fucking creepier than Amnesia. Just hearing random noises while walking with a gun that has low accuracy, yeah that makes you feel great.

Forgot, Mario kart on DS/SNES.
Good taste, I was getting worried
Final fantasy 10 was kinda an embarrassment to final fantasy fans. We were all fans of these highly intricate plots in a sorta steam punk world.
Followed by this goof show of some anime kidz pop blitzball on christ why.
Meh I could see that but Zelda fans take it further than most it seems. Every time a new Zelda game comes out it always gets glowing reviews(cdi games don't count/not made by Nintendo). Breath of the wild was good for instance but it was basically a dumbed down version of Skyrim with the ability to climb. I remember when that game came out people were flipping shit and it sold a fuck ton of Switch's at luanch. I thought it was good when I finally played it but I have to agree that people jerk off to these games way too hard.
speak for yourself, ffx is literally the top selling ff game after 7
If you honestly think that Ocarina of Time is the best game of all time you're probably a nostalgia-blind manlet
Monster Hunter. Started with Freedom, gonna get a Switch to play Generations Ultimate. From all the games I have played, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is still the one I come back to the most.
Star Control 2
Seiken Densetsu 3
Ehrgeiz (Dungeon Mode)
Final Fantasy Tactics and FF6
Dragon Valor
Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2
Resident Evil 4
Modern Warfare 2
Halo 1
do note the words used by
specifically, "final fantasy fans"
a game in the series does not NEED to be a hit with its old fans to be the best selling in general
take Persona, for example. a good number of MegaTen fans despise the Persona games after Persona 3, yet if memory serves, Persona is outperforming SMT lately, getting close to surpassing it in total sales
You've got to be joking right? They havn't made a good call of duty since world at war
it might not be the "best game ever made" but I've never had as much fun in any game as I did with Halo 1 and friends. I organized a little club in high school, pitched it as a multimedia club to the principal and all we did was steal the network hub out of the library and link up 4 xboxes in the teleconference room that had 6+ TVs in it. Our first game was blood gulch, CTF to 3, it lasted almost 2 hours.
Ratchet & Clank series
Gothic 2
Crash Bandicoot & Spyro
Cant decide between ff7 ut99 diablo2 wow LoL dayz
Help me out fgts which one?
Ah yes original Pokémon red
Yeah the rose colored glasses are a factor, but to design a full RPG and pace it in a way that makes accomplishments attainable by children while staying challenging & engaging with somewhat mature themes and tone, staying linear while also offering a lot of freedom to explore and play your own way, Ocarina is absolutely timeless.
Has to be all the STALKER games
Dead rising 2 and 3
Dying light
Unturned
Gta San Andreas
WoW
Perfect Dark is hands down the best shooter if it's type in every aspect and even today is unmatched in some of it's design choices
Total War: war Hammer is a game so audacious I simply cannot believe it exists. In fact it's a game that really shouldn't exist. It's amazing and it got me into the Warhamner universe. My best friend is a die hard Warhammer player and he could confirm every little detail in the game being true to the lore and the models. Infact, he insists it translates so well that the table top tactics work the same and it us the purest way to play as it let's you play every faction at the scale battles took place at in the lore (impossible with table top) while learning the lore and setting and not spending thousands of dollars
Also maybe not best game ever but I'm playing my way through Vanquish right now and it is perhaps the most criminally under appreciated game in existence. I am experiencing a joy while playing it I haven't felt in nearly 10 years. It makes me remember a time before AAA and shareholders ruined the industry
Cant believe no one mentioned this little gem
I've finished it a number of times and i'll definetly play it once in a while for the rest of my life.
>dayz

>Borderlands Series (Always played with friend, passed away, so nostalgia)

>Final fantasy 10 was kinda an embarrassment to final fantasy fans.
It's the first one I really liked. The battle system and sphere grid and weapon/armor customizing is great. FFX-2 was also pretty good. FFXII was the last decent game, and slept on by a lot of people.
Morrowind
Everyone in this thread is a casual gamer. Bullshit like Pokemon and Zelda even being in this conversation tells me you are all too young to be here. Stop with your shit tier tastes. The only correct answer is Manhunt. Yes Manhunt, the snuff simulator from Rockstar. THAT is the best game of all time. There is not argument against it and if you try you are wasting your time and being a cuck.
And the winner for the worst bait I've ever fucking seen goes to
i love splatoon
World of warcraft (vanilla)
Age of mythology (original not titans)
Ocarina of time
Majora mask
Golden eye 64
Odd one here perfect dark 64
Mario paint with the mouse pad for super NES loved the bug attack game
Original pokemon for game boys red and blue
FF7 this is a top one
FFX
Let me think of some more
I liked half-life 2 so much I think that's gotta be my answer, even though I don't replay it as much as some other games
Other contenders are:
Loz series, OOT, MM, original LOZ, twilight princess
Secret of mana
Mario series, M64, SMB, SMB 3
Diablo II
Starcraft and expansions
Wow
Kotor I and II
Planescape: Torment
Katamari series
Megaman x and x2
Halo series 1, 2 and 3
Destiny II was pretty cool but I got bored with it quickly, it was an ambitious start to a game
Dota, HoN and Lol are pretty good but I like incremental building in games, resetting every game in a multiplayer battle arena isn't my favorite
Same with battle royale games like tf2, pubg, overwatch and paladins, even though they're fun
never tried fortnite or rocket league, never tried them but they look fun
DDR and guitar hero series, rock band
I'm big into MTG arena, used to play mtgo and hearthstone.
Currently play clicker heroes, MTG arena and diablo II
Tried to replay FF7 but got kinda bored 1/4 way through
>Katamari series
>clean your room, the game.
Oh yeah SSB and mariokart, how could I forget those. Those and goldeneye used to be the "get together and party" games of my childhood
Wii sports was the shit too
>call of duty
>choosing halo 3 over CE
>listing vice city but not IV or even III
Ding dong your opinion is wrong, faggot.
Ok but the soundtrack is so amazing, and there's something cathartic about rolling around and picking up things and your katamari slowly getting bigger
I love the old katamari games, and the art style makes the graphics look less dated to me (just my opinion) but I think they've aged well compared to other games of the era
>Bioshock (Excluding the last 3 Hours)
Huh?
What did he mean by this?
First question Bioshock 1 or 2 or infinite?
Serious question how can anyone enjoy this game?
i mean there is nothing interesting in it.
its simplistic.
And 9/10 you get randomly killed by someone else.
I agree, just poking fun. I actually bought the first one as soon as it came out after renting it. Pretty sure I have an iso of it somewhere, should spin it up in the emulator.
>Serious question how can anyone enjoy this game?
It's mostly meme. It's like the new 'cool kid' thing for the zoomers.
Majoras mask was good but Ocarina of Time had me hooked
The Elder Scrolls 3 morrowind
Heroes of Might and Magic III
>It's like the new 'cool kid' thing for the zoomers.
I mean why do zoomers like it? What is there in it? I understand they like the cooler looks and are kids who get dazzled by pretty lights. However why do they like it?
I did give it some tries and its boring like fuck.
Hey here play for 30 minutes.
>25 minutes you do nothing other then run around >and try to find things.
>Get sniped by some other people or shot from behind.
>Not even a flashy victory screen after your team wins.
This game doesn't even look finished and the characters look like pictured its like some mutants or if the guy modeling them has his hands broken or is drunk.
Because san andreas was a follow up. Vice city set the tone for that level of gaming and san andreas just added to it.
I haven't played myself but there was this streamer I was watching, the gameplay is intense if you're good at micromanaging building, and that's basically what you learn to do when you play
Watch some clips from youtube.com
This isn't the exact vid I discovered him with, but he's very particularly skilled for this game. It makes you think the game is fun, but only for those who are extremely skilled
Yeah the learning curve is probably rough, it takes some time to learn all that micromanagement and building, do it fast, and then also participate in fps shooting
Isn't it free to play? Kids don't have money, so free shit is usually more popular with them. That's why all the zoomers in /pol/ are trying to meme that chink Yang into popularity, they want that $1000 a month because it's more than their current allowance, and they think that's a lot of money.
Not him however its Vice city for me because even thou I played GTA3. VC is the only GTA where things are pretty and flashy and you have this nice Miami vice look.
Meanwhile al other GTAs look like they are set in shitholess or gray and brown.
My summer car.
If you don't agree immediately you're automatically a faggot
Morrowind is the king of this series, but a lot of the games are good
oblivion looks kinda like shit now but it was somewhat more balanced than morrowind, and the story was good
Skyrim is obviously the chad-tier noob friendly in the series but it's still great
Didn't play arena, daggerfall or any of the others (Battlespire, Redguard, Stormhold, Dawnstar, and Shadowkey, or The Elder Scrolls Online)
You can mod out morrowind so it looks less dated now
>Isn't it free to play?
Yes it is.
So is:
DOTA2
Unreal Tournament 4 (hey actually in the same place/platform like fortnight and 100% free)
ghotem city imposters (basically COD for free only with batmans and jokers)
>Kids don't have money
I can imagine this however don't parents buy them shit?
I mean did they never play any other game? did they only play minecraft and then switched to fortnight?
>did they only play minecraft and then switched to fortnight?
Probably. I don't think either of them really require a good computer either.
Kids don't know what Unreal is lol.
Main story was shit in oblivion but side quests been awesome. Yes, i know. I play morrowind every year so graphic mod are really helpful
The Last of us.
Man what was good about oblivion then
I remember thinking it was so great, there were new features like 2handing spells or 1 spell in each hand, dual wielding
The oblivion gates were a cool conceit of the game
Doing the daedric prince shrines is great in every ES game
You just look back on the graphics now and it's like, how could I have ever liked this dogshit
>I haven't played myself but
OK why not?
I mean its free to play?
I have known it from anti-zoomer hate rants.
So I decided to give it a objective try myself.
And then I looked online to see if there is some strategy you need to learn.
Found nothing looks like some peace of shit game where kids can like the colors or get excited when they kill someone by walking to him form behind and 1 shooting some guy.
And rage if others do the same to them.
>it takes some time to learn all that micromanagemen
Look I'm
1) A arena shooter player
So what is this micromanagement you are talking about ? 4 Weapons and 4 spawn shit keys?
2) A Starcraft 2 player
Want to talk about strategy or micromanagement?
So what are you talking about and why are there no strategy videos on this?
>building
the building mechanism is pure cancer and looks like cancer it dose not even snap in place correctly and have weird and awkward things in it.
You tell me about starctaft and strafe jumping and arena shooters and then you tell me where the strategy in this game is supposed to be.
>Unreal is lol.
fucken kids.
Don't worry brother, my favorite game is Cave Story, the music is up there with the greats.
>oblivion gates
The number of gates was a problem you can see them like epic adventure but after 2-3 it's starts be boring. I have hope that new Tes will be not fucked up like fallout 76. Oh and skywind maybe will be good
Eurotruck simulator 14
>see if there is some strategy you need to learn.
>Found nothing
Look you're obviously not watching top tier streamers and applying their tactics to your own game playing fortnite. If you're just the best there is then link your channel I'll subscribe, you know there's a huge audience and lots of money to be made on this game if you're good
>4 Weapons and 4 spawn shit keys
Any game can be reduced this way. Starcraft? Oh you just highlight units, they only have 2 commands, sometimes 3 if they have a spell. Easy stuff
>the building mechanism is pure cancer
Sounds like you suck lolololol
:^)
Darks souls 1 and 3
Red dead redemption 1 and 2
fallout 2
many come close but none can compare
Ocarina of Time isn't even the best Zelda game I've played.
Earthbound or TLOZ: Windwaker one of those
Objectively, the best game I've played is Witcher 3. But I love the Halo games, tied favourites are Halo 3 and Reach. (I know Reach wasn't that great, I just have a lot of great memories with it).
I remember thinking the same when I booted it back up last year. The graphics were pretty bad, but at the time we accepted them and thought it was amazing.
It wasn't like the 8bit and 16but era where everything worked within what they were trying to accomplish, so those are easier to go back to.
But yeah it was all about the side quests in that game. I was in University when it came out and wasted many study hours. Something like 60 hours in that game without touching the main story. there was so much to do.
Curious how old you are. Not in any aggressive or confronty way.
Because I thought the Witcher 3 was good but it didn't stand out as anything special at all to me..
>undertale
stopped reading there
Differentfag.
You don't have to like it but undertale was amazing even if the fan base was super faggy.
Call of duty 1. It was the shit back in the day. Not like any of you kids would remember.
Twilight Princess
at the time if you was a 90's baby and owned a N64 then you would also think that Ocarina of time was the best game ever.
Brothers!
I have to agree with this. Let's go further back: may I also recommend Half life and FarCry 1 and 2.
In B4 HL2!! what about HL2 - that game was boring.
In the end, singhle player games just lost any appeal to me after I found TF2.
pic related, my first screen shot
I didn't play multiplayer on those games at all. I don't even remember when the multiplayer came out. But I do remember having a really hard time keeping track of what ones I played and which d day mission was from which game.. those games were great though.
This game is sorely responsible for my diehard love of JRPGs. Played the demo on a ps underground disk and was hooked the moment you turn into dragon people
The two games that have given me the greatest amount of emotional immersion, game play time, repeat playing from beginning to end, and sustained enjoyment were
> Half Life (original version) and Dungeon Keeper (original version).
Nothing else has really got near to those two as far as I am concerned.
>Any game can be reduced this way
I'm asking where the mechanic there is.
The complexity of having 8 active keys for weapons is child's play in all arena shooters.
So if you are talking about "Oh no I need to use X now" its child's play if we are talking about arena shooters skills. I can instant swap to 10 weapons with no problem and no mistake.
And remember I'm ASKING maybe there is some complexity however you introduced this "micromanagemen" word I'm asking for you to clarify it.
>Starcraft?
Watch a game or a starcraft tutorial you are using about 12 keys minimum with up to 25.
And you need to constantly press buttons in the right way.
Lets contrast
How its played
youtube.com
How its explained
youtube.com
Watch the keyboard camera.
Also contrast the information given.
Or how easy these tutorials are to find.
I was thinking you where taking about playing battlezone 2 (starcraft + FPS hybrid). you spawning shit is not micromanaging you buildings.
micromanaging is you shooting a guy and ordering your base to build a tank and send it to you.
>Sounds like you suck lolololol
you know what the iron here is?
I actually played fortnight a handful of times this automatically makes me 300% more qualified to talk about it then you.
If you want to know I'm talking about the way the game determines the place of the building it feels clunky and the building animation is annoying as fuck.
> link your channel I'll subscribe, you know there's a huge audience and lots of money
Fact fortnight has no leader or MMR score everyone can brag he is pro if he drops into a game get matched with total crap players who don't know how to manage 8 different weapon slots and win a game where his team is carrying him.
There is no score, there is no rank.
Its a random team game everyone can win by having his team carry him.
And the game is basically people shooting you from behind or random shit happening.

Wipeout probably.
Any love for this game?
The first time I played Left 4 Dead, having just watched the opening scene, and going through the maps not sure what to expect, it was scary and fun as fuck. And then realizing I was good enough to beat all maps on expert was kickass. And the feeling of landing +25 pounce in Versus? Watching people rage quit because you’re so goddamn good? The other team spamming return to lobby votes hoping someone on your team would accidentally vote yes so they could kick you from the lobby and then PM you about being a faggot because they were SO BUTTFRUSTRATED that they can’t beat you? Hahahaha best times in gaming there.
Modern warfare 2 nigger
That's when I stopped playing at least
I remember being around 11-12 playing this game and I had no idea that bullet drop was in the game when I was trying to snipe so I missed every shot.
Like I said in my post, it isn't like 8 and 16 bit where it worked within what it was meant for. Donkey Kong country still has one of the best graphics there is. It's not advanced or anything but they used their limits well.
Oblivion, everyone's faces looked like they were inside surgical gloves, which, if that's what you're used to at the time, is fine. But going back, it is really hard to get mmersed into it.
Entirely within above context, I disagree that graphics aren't everything. It's the entire experience. I don't demand realism cutting edge, or even new. 1992 is fine.
I do want it to not be distracting from the experience. And really, put that way, graphics *are* everything.
>bullet drop
g-gravity?
I appreciate your opinions. On that note:
UGH
Tetris

fanbase was cancer, the game itself is really good
>low playerbase is bad
you realize that after pubg reached cancer levels it became 99% hackers right?
There was literally no skill involved in that game other than reaction time after that.
The low playerbase is bad because there are no community servers that are even worth playing. Have you ever played Overpoch?
