A cheap AR is going to kick the ass of a cheap AK in terms of reliability. People shill AK reliability, but a $500 century arms (RAS47) will blow up in your face, for the AR, worst case scenario you $500 M&P or AR556 will FTE and undergas. You can build a lot more on your AR thank you can with an AK. Also, 7.62x39 is a larger, slower round best for engagements before 250m.. 5.56 is faster and smaller, it has less knockdown before 250m but can.be effective past 500m.

Steel cased .223 is about the same price as steel cased 7.62x39. My cheap ARs have never had an issue running crap Red Army or Wolf steel, but my more expensive ones do. I think this is because of headspacing and wylde vs. Standard spec but im not sure.

Nevada...gun laws are overall pretty good but the concealed carry system is slow. Took me about 3 months which is pretty average. Being able to buy and walk out within a few minutes is great tho, as are the legality of NFA items. I have a 9mm suppressor waiting for ATF approval.

BCM, PSA, Daniel defense, ect ect build from the start to whatever you want... Because for the love of God we all know you're not gonna keep the rifle stock...nobody does..so why not make you're rifle the best you can afford while learning about you're rifle and all of its pieces instead of buying a shitty Ruger/M&P 556 and ripping almost half the parts off to swap with new parts. The vast majority of engagements you could get into in any real circumstances as a civilian are going to be good shotgun range. Shotgun is also very versatile with different barrels and different shot types.

Unless you plan on gunning down 50 people or need to fight from 300 meters then a shotgun is pretty ideal.

Yep, heavy 5.56 rounds are great defensive loads. I use 62 and 75 grain bonded softpoints and 77 grain open tipped match rounds. All are devastating against soft tissue.

The BC of a 30 cal or a 762 is fine but out of a 7.62by 39 vs a 556 by 45 the pure speed takes over and the thinner object at higher speed will penetrate I'm not talking about shooting plane Jane m85 hard ball. I disagree, a .22 as a first gun is good if you’re just learning about fire arms safety and how to shoot. However if you know how to shoot and are needing a firearm for a legitimate reason a 22 won’t fill that role.

Only case in where a 556/223 has more penetration than a 7.62 is a long range scenario because of the 556/223 speed compared to the slower/heavy 7.62. I have a yugo sks, and it's pretty nice. Not all that accurate, but still fun to shoot. Also, it's even more simple than an AK. Wouldn't recommend doing the high cap magazine conversion, though. Just leave it as is or buy an AK if you want 30 rounds.
