Anyone ever worked in a factory before...

Anyone ever worked in a factory before? I was given a pair of steel toe boots to use for free because too broke to buy my own. They have literally no padding, they're just hard as shit and they're destroying my feet. Every night off, my feet are pulsing, stinging and it's agonizing. The job is shit and I'm covered in bruises/cuts. Every morning feels like I got hit by a train. I keep thinking to myself, "just stick this out long enough to get a car and go find something else" but man, this job is fucking shit.

The main point is, for you young people... do not fuck your life up. Do something to earn a career while you're young so that you don't end up like me, 30 years old in a brutal 1 star rated factory tearing yourself up on third shift 6 nights a week.

I don't care how old someone is. No one forced you to apply to a fucking Factory job of all the places you could have gone

Get some insoles, incel

You don't have options when you live in a small town surrounded by corn and no money.

this. insoles for the incel

That's the other thing no one forced you to live in that small town with corn. I think certain people I have a mental illness. It's like excuses are more important than action. Move and find a better job god dammit.

They don't help when you're on line-end. You have to stand on this hard metal runway designed for sliding skids for 9 hours. Even the Dr. Scholl's couldn't help there. Your feet are usually stinging and pulsating by hour 2-3. When you finally get off, you're just dragging yourself and it looks like you just got prison raped.

>Just move
>Cmon anons, just print money and move
>What are you, stupid?
The only people who have this mentality are NEETs who live with their parents and have never had to pay bills or work.

tape your feet where the blisters occur. i used to spend 20 minutes every morning taping my feet before i put my steel toe boots on. it was worth the extra time, trust me on this.

Move with what...? Does the landlord at any location you know of take IOUs?

Also this. I would powder them and tape them. Whatever you do though OP, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT put on extra socks. I tried this one night and one night only. It made it so much worse.

Another thing... when you get a first or steady paycheck, buy good boots. Not some $20 Walmart boots but real good boots. I promise you, your quality of life will drastically improve even if it hurts your wallet. So many people I worked with would wear shitty boots because they didn't want to spend the money. Yet, they would spend all their money on alcohol, drugs and other shit. If you haven't figured it out yet, the majority of people who work in factory are degenerate fucking morons. It's called general labor for a reason.

Jesus Christ it's exactly what I was talking about. I'm glad I don't have this in my genes. It's all about excuses for you people isn't it. Hell I would put everything in a suitcase and hop on a train or hitchhike if I had to. Change your life or stop making excuses. You don't need money for this shit

Cheapass. You need to get Birkenstock insoles, they need to be broken in, but worth it long term. Also never buy cheap socks. These are life lessons you should have had before 30.

Personally I'd just buy some decent boots, they're for life.

You're clearly young and have never actually ever had to earn money, work or move. Life isn't a sitcom user. It's not that easy.

user here is being pretentious but he kind of has a point. I had to hitchhike out of my hometown because it was garbage. Had to live in a homeless shelter before I could afford my own place.

Got a recommendation from Amazon? I don't care how much they are. I will buy them with my first check.

I'm 25 and I didn't make mistakes in life. That doesn't me and you can't change yours

This guy gets it

Get yourself some insoles for those boots. It'll help a lot. Get yourself a new pair of boots asap, your feet will thank you. Everybody has their own preference and every brand fits different, personally I like the way Ariats fit. BTW, boot sizes are different from street shoe sizes (because they're actually accurate). I'm size 13 in shoes, but 12 EE in boots, for instance

I did, but I bought my own boots. Most comfortable things I have ever worn. Boots are something you spend money on once and never again.

I miss wearing them, I am now in an office job and the fancy business shoes are shit.

funny thing how you can tell someone that has actually had to work on a job site before ain't it?

Here's the thing about where you're at in life. You live literally to exist and be a factory slave. You will never get out of that position. Slave factory work is a dead-end job. If you suck enough ass, you might get into some office job at wherever you work but don't count on it. You will forever be a slave that's destroying your body and will need surgeries by the time your 50 if you don't utilize your off-time properly. I know it sucks but sacrifice sleep and look for another job or work on making something for yourself to escape that hell. It blows my mind that so many people are so happy that it's "FRIDAY" or they're happy to be at the end of the week.

Like, what are you happy about? You get 1-2 days and then you're right back to your shitty life of sleeping and working in a miserable job.

Also, by the way, get a good set of woolen socks. Thick ones. They'll help with your feet.

Buy skiing socks you absolute retard.

I'm 29 and make 2000+€ a month teaching english online for VIPKID
it's retardedly easy but just needs ANY BA and for you to be a conscious north american citizen. you have to pass their stupid online mock class interview process but there are guides and people willing to train you to get a referral bonus (small like 25$) for getting you hired
easiest money ever made from home

People who work in those positions are generally stupid. They exist only to hate their life 5 days a week and then think the weekend is something to live for. They genuinely don't get that they waste 16 hours a day for 5 days a week.

>homeless shelter
>hitchhiking
I'd rather keep my factory job in nowhereville

Oh yeah and if they try to talk you into doing overtime, don't do it. The second you do over a certain amount of overtime, like 12 hours, they essentially double the amount they're taxing you and it's not worth it.

Not every state though.

Homeless shelters really aren't that bad. In retrospect it gives you a deeper appreciation for Humanity. Just knowing that you were at rock bottom and there are still people there to help you.

Get a pair of green triangle steeltoe rubber boots with proper shanks in them. They're legal and you can just wear thick socks to make them fit properly.

lol my ass dude. You've never been to one. I've been to a few throughout my early 20s. They're full of fucking degenerates, junkies and felons. These people live to make enough money for quick highs. Most of them aren't good people who just fell on hard times.

Get a pair of these, Orange SuperFeet insoles and a pair of balls.

I guess my perception is different because those are the kind of people I was surrounded with growing up. They don't really mean any harm to you anyways

Buy Bates gx-9 boots. They are composite toe, but still safety boots. They are light as fuck and feel like a thick pair of hightops. I just got these a month ago and I wish I had bought them sooner

I work 9:30 PM to 6 AM. Let's say your job sucks and your beat to shit every day so you sleep 8 hours every day. Let's say you need 1 hour every day to get to and from work and prep time.

That's still 7 and a half hours that you could be doing something about your situation. You live in an era with the internet. Think about all the people before you who hated their lives but could do nothing about it and had to work in shitty jobs because of the lack of opportunities and the internet that we have today.

Fucking this. 30 year olds are walking excuses at this point for not doing anything about this situation

I just don't get it. People sleep, work and want their lives to end but don't want to do anything to change it. I would rather write articles for $1/100 words than ever go back to a factory.

this

it requires putting in hours, like any job, but it’s easier than whatever shit you’re doing in a factory

People give up and then there's people who are too stupid to ever rise above where they're at. This is why the people who interview people at McDonalds or Wendy's are usually 40+ years old and have 20 years of fast food service on their belt with nothing to show for it. Every interview I ever had for a shitty job was with a complete fucking moron at least twice my age and I would just get sad. I would think, this was their entire youth and most of their adulthood. Just how can you be okay with this?

had the same problem go to some shoe store and ask there for insoles

>just move

Sooo, beggers are choosers..... Fuck off.

I got kicked out right at the end of college (UK) and had to start paying rent, so I just had to do whatever work I could. Hence I’ve been doing factory work for 4 years now, and I gotta say it’s only gotten more depressing so. I’ve even been considering going back to college and getting qualified to do something I actually like or at least care about.

Stay in school kids, it may suck for now but not as much as retard pleb labout does.

Better advice is to get your ass on welfare and never voluntarily slave your life away for the benefit of the garbage system we live under. I worked in factories and warehouses for 3 or 4 years when I was 20 and it destroyed me mentally and physically. I'm 31 now and haven't had a job in 7 years. I'm somewhat proud of that.

With your first paycheck you should definitely invest in comfortable boots if you plan on staying there for any length of time. At least buy insoles and two pairs of thick socks.

Get a fucking car and stop doing drugs you homeless faggot

How did you manage to get on welfare? I was on it for like less than a year, but only because I was depressed and suicidal and they barely gave me enough to live on. Seemed like they were just waiting to boot me off.

only an amerifat would be given protective boots for free and complain they hurt their feet. kek

Buy them in person you nut, how else will you even know they'll be any better than your current pair or fit at all.
