i think it's acceptable to steal from very large business (wal-mart for example) but only food and only if you're age ~20 or younger

Often they use quiote generic names for stuff, so "candles" "tealights" etc. And obviously, don't take the piss, if they see you have loads of stuff then an odd "slight of hand" scan can go undetected even if they do challenge it.

bring a couple of own bags from home, and put shopping into them as you go around- then empty them before scanning- but leave a bit of stuff at the bottom of one. Make sure to leave that bag in your trolley and not the one you use for the bagging area. This works for cashier tills too. if you are white and pleasant, and it's not obvious, they don't challenge you.
