ITT: We discuss ideas on how to develop, organize and expand a cult
I am already making attempts to develop a sporitual belief system that eats away at their sense of identity as an individual into one of the group, but i require other ideas

>develop a sporitual belief system that eats away at their sense of identity

What does that mean?

Spiritually* Essentially provide a doctrine on how to properly live your life happily similar to what siddhartha gautama (Now known as Buddha) did. But underneath that begin a slow and gradual process of indoctrination that ultimately takes their individualism into a "group think" just as most dictators have done to rise to power

Just do what Scientology did, make it simple and attractive at first and eventually people will believe in volcanoes filled with alien souls or whatever other shit you tell them

Ive already come up with demographics on who is most likely to join into it and it is primarily people of little self worth and will grasp at anything to make themself feel as if theyre doing something. Social justice warriors and suicidal preteens aswell as people generally involved in a crisis in their life. So my doctrine is going to base itself around those that are lost and offer them a better life for themselves

Charles manson also used psychedelics as part of his doctrine so any thoughts on the use of them to brainwash would be appreciated.

If it can help me from killing myself then im in

That's pretty generic, but I like the idea of making a cult in general. Been "jokingly" talking about doing something along the lines of making a cult or religion for ages.
My only question is why go through the trouble of trying to establish a new belief systems when you can just utilize one that is already well established such as Christianity. surely it would take less effort to manipulate what is already here than make something entirely new.

Christianity has fallen out of favor and has failed to revitalize to meet the current world populous. As is with pretty much all religion. Spirituality is more generalized and relieves the burden of explaining whats beyond our world. The true attractiveness of it as opposed to religion is that its all in relevance to the life we have now instead of the life after now. Its promotes productivity and loyalty where i need it most

Fair enough, though I feel you will at some point need to confront what comes after death in your foundational writings

Also where it is not threaded in with religion it does not cause the individual to outright abandon their religion already in place making the decision to become one of us that much easier. Yes religious values can cause an issue but the doctrine carefully tiptoes around definitive things you have to do that would prove difficult and counterintuitive for someone of a particular faith

Why do you want to do this, by the way?

That is very true. My explanation is actually preceded by a quote from Ian Stewart: "If the brain were simple enough to understand it, we would be so simple we could not understand it" and that parallels to whats beyond our human understanding is, well, beyond our human understanding. It is scientifically impossible to know what god is or what he wants. That leaves a gigantic possibility for anyone to believe what they so choose but also be open to different interpretations due to the ingerent knowledge nobody knows for sure

I dream of causing a cultural revolution amongst our common man. I dream of a world where we understand a common belief of progress. Not progress of race or gender but of the species. We are regressing evolutionarily and that must be stopped at all costs. And i fear the longer we wait to change our ways the higher of a chance drastic measures must be taken to ensure our survival.

I mean look at the world from a global standpoint. Essentially every war ever fought was some form of civil war between our species. We havent had a hundred years of peace virtually ever, we have a starvation and an obesity problem at the same time. We kill off our planet for the benefit of a select few. We will never assimilate and unify at this rate, and without a unified front we waste resources amongst ourself where they could be put to better use like literally saving us from extinction. Weve almost killed our species off multiple times in the cold war and our distrust and hate for our own kind will ultimately lead to our downfall. Even if we simply pool our resources into space exploration we could colonize and terraform other planets. We could turn ourselves into an unkillable super species and maybe even find a way to beat the one common enemy that has taken loved ones from another on every side of our pointless wars, death itself.

That's surprisingly pleasant, assuming you're being honest. It is kind of funny how we seem to have looped back to tribalism, though it might be a stretch to say we ever got past it in the first place.

Bump bc this thread must stay

Exactly. And in my opinion the only remedy is a mass change in cultural belief. One that not only is of one nation, but one that seeps into every nation to give us all some inherent sense of oneness that we seem to severely lack

do shrooms with them and tell them tales of your cult. but never say it specifically make it spiritual.at the end tell them they passed.

This talk reminds me of that one thing JFK said. Something about that if we all faced a common threat we'd unite very quickly

Its how national socialism and communism both were born and thrived. If we made that common enemy metaphysical and not towards another group of human then we could do it
