The FBI check only checks you against a list. Then it drops the record of the check being run because people are against a database of gun owners. A full FBI background check checks against all criminal history and still takes at least 24 hours if the record is clean. If something is on it it can take 72 hours to verify and get more info. You can be a criminal and buy a gun. The FBI doesn’t care. Only states do
