Her finding out that she can fly was lame as fuck like usually that’s a pretty big revelation for a person and a significant moment in the exploration of their powers for her she was falling and she needed to fly and then no one ever comments on it again and she just shrugs it off

The way she got her powers makes no fucking sense apparently this core thing that assplodes and gives her her powers can survive a high speed plane crash but one shoot from a space gun and its game over

To all of those who haven't seen it: It's the most average Marvel movie that will ever exist. It's almost a perfect 5/10 in every way. If you liked even the shitty Marvel movies because seeing Stan Lee gives you a boner, then you'll like it. I'd say its contender for the worst film of Phase 3, alongside Ant-Man 2, and Black Panther.

First half was pretty good, much better than expected. Then it just became a story about how girls are so powerful, and the only reason they haven't conquered the world is because men have been suppressing them the whole time.

It's just an annoying story because I don't believe it. I truly believe the most entitled and privileged members of western society are white women and it's been like that since the early 2000's.

So that's why it was ruined for me. If it wasn't for that, it still wasn't a great movie. Laughs were cheap, the costumes and set design were cheap nostalgia, 80% of laughs came from a cat, special effects were fine, acting was vanilla.

It's not about who's the lead role, it's about how it's presented. Just as with black panther, it was a half assed cooperate attempt at diversity, and the amount they pushed their "empowering" characters is what turned people off.

I could give loads of movies with female leads that no one batted an eye to, but it's so obvious with captain marvel that they're trying to appeal to the liberal crowd and push this false sense of feminine empowerment

It was pretty good. Not great but it did its job. I was going into expecting an origin story and that's what we got. If you really want to nitpick at it you can but all in all, marvel did a great job making a mediocre superhero into a pretty good contender for most op, at least in the cinematic universe. I'm really excited to see her in end game and really hope Monica rambeau shows up as a grown up. Maybe setting up a sequel with both of them as captain marvel. Or maybe monica just goes straight to the name photon or whatever she goes by later. All in all the movie was visually awesome, had a standard origin plot, and great acting. 7/10 will watch again. Oh and seeing how fury lost his eye was by far the best part.

Wonder Woman fell apart during the third act and became an annoying CG slugfest. Alita was Yea Forums trying to brute force a shit movie into fame. It was fucking awful. Captain Marvel was the most average Marvel movie to date. It wasn't good, but the film was expected to not be fucking awful.
