While the numbers you gave may be right, all that shows is the massive income inequality going on between the workers and the owning class.

I think we have a difference of opinion on whether the owner class has actually earned their wealth. The owning class will only pay their workers just enough to keep them from leaving and they do this so they can keep more of the profits. That amount kept, was not earned, it has no relation to how much the CEO or owner is worth to the company. It is actually "Society should pay for the education of the poor" - which makes sense, considering how society profits from having educated people.

Also, there is "the rich should pay their fair share". Which also makes sense, because their wealth depends on society in terms of infrastructure, markets, public funded research, policing, and so on. Walmart even depends on their employees receiving foodstamps, which is outrageous.
