Have any of you ever done a complete 180 in your political beliefs?
In light of the recent terrorist attack, I've really been questioning what side I'm on. I've always been right wing. More libertarian these past few years though. Recently, I've been listening to leftist podcasts and media tho. Especially chapo trap house. It's hosted by ex-right wingers I believe and I honestly just feel like I found my people. They're the anarchist/socialist type, but I find myself agreeing with them on like everything. I think my main turn off to the left has always been SJWs and feminist shit. I've also always been a huge proponent of free speech. I've been realizing that liberals are mainly the annoying SJW/feminist we see so often in the media. Anarchists and socialists actually seem pretty anti-SJW and pro free speech.
Idk, maybe I'm being brainwashed, but I'm honestly feeling like everything I've believed these past few years is just wrong.
Normally, I would be edgy af with this terrorist attack and get pleasure out of trolling n shit, but I don't feel that anymore. I saw the video and it was just horrible. I just felt really sad afterwards. I didn't want to joke or anything. Maybe I'm just maturing or maybe it's because I took acid last month, idk. But don't go overboard either. Capitalism isn't inherently evil -- it just has its limitations. Start there, read everything you can about it, and -- above all -- be skeptical about *everything*.

Obviously, that approach contributes nothing to advancing the public dialog. It's important to realize that they do not speak for everyone who's left of center. (Actually, they don't speak for anyone except themselves.)
My recommendation: split everything into separate issues, and stop trying to tie the issues together. For example: (1) Some people like to harp on identity politics, and (2) Other people have critiques of capitalism. Those two things are totally separate ideas, and should never be combined. When you use a word like "liberal", you run the risk of combining those things together. Stop trying to attach labels to things and focus on just the individual ideas themselves.
