Y'know, as much as I would like to believe this, I can't help but feel like many people I meet on a daily basis feel differently.

Came to the US as a child from a foreign country. Fully assimilated. The US is my home, and neither I, nor my parents or siblings, retain any bit of foreign culture/identity in us (other than the color of my skin). I am fine with this because I grew up here and it is all I've ever known. Fortunately my parents Americanized themselves fairly quickly--I did the same as a result. I am also an atheist.
