I have my ex's old iPhone 5S and I'm trying to unlock it to see if I can find some wins. I have a couple of current wins that I can share for some help, but if we can get into the phone and find more it's a win-win.

Added information:
iPhone is on airplane mode so I can't do the "ask Siri what time it is" route. It's not updated to the point where I can swipe up from the home screen to turn off airplane mode either.
Or maybe even if there's a way to have unlimited tries on the passcode without it locking up. I have a couple of ideas for a 4 digit code, but I'm at 15 min waiting now.

Hey OP not sure if it still works but if it has siri enabled then activate siri and ask it to set a reminder just say something random for the reminder an d then press the home button once and the phone should unlock. Again not sure if it still works but its worth a try.
I can't access Siri because it's on airplane mode and I can't do the swipe up to turn airplane mode off.

Why don’t you plug it into your computer and copy/paste the photos from the picture folder. I don’t think the 5s locks you out with it being locked. I could be exactly wrong though.
It only shows up on iTunes and it asks me to unlock the phone.

How many guesses do you have? Will the phone lock itself or some shit if you guess too many incorrectly? This is important.
Firstly, let’s think outside the box here.
Can you place the iPhone in a dark area, use a light on it at the right angle and look for finger prints that indicate which 4 numbers she presses more than any other? This won’t give us the pin but it will at least give us the 4 numbers used, drastically reducing the time this will take.
Have you tried her year of birth? Or the year her youngest sibling was born?
Are there any 4 letter words that correlate with her? Nicknames, a favourite colour? If she’s into space, it could be “moon” etc, think hard.
If you’re not limited to guesses, try “5678”, it’s very common.
Do you know her bank pin? Do you know the pin of her new phone or any numbers included at all?
Try using the last four digits of a previous phone number
