First shot caught me off guard, because it was my first time. But after 2 or 3 more I had gotten the hang of it and started hitting center mass. It was a ton of fun. I was a bit iffy about getting the su-16 becaue shooting the ARs convinced me.

Nah, Im strictly a defensive shooter. I've got no desire to go and kill a bunch of people. I just don't think a Ruger 10/22 can do as good a job at home defence as an SU-16 can. Plus the SU-16 is legal in my city. Plus im definitely a much weaker shot than many others. It was my first time, but thats what practice is for my man.

Its a rifle chambered in 22LR. Nothing special, small. Good for a first gun and hunting squirrel. But I want a big boy gun, which is what the SU-16 will supply me.

And this was on a range that was "bad," meaning all the Joes were suckin' wind in the low to mid 20's & because they couldn't qualify to save their lives, all they could do was bitch & moan about how the range sucked. Then my happy ass waltzed in there and "pew pew pew!" not only qualified but set the range record that day.

And again, only took me one iteration.

ARs are easily customizable to a bunch of different uses. A 10.5" barreled AR is a perfect close-range weapon whereas an 18-20" AR with heavy 77 grain bullets excels at distances past 400 yards. And your standard 16" barreled AR is your mid-range do-all platform. The AR is capable of a variety of tasks which all depends on how they're set up.

It's a pretty nice shot, I had to qualify with one for my job and I got 10 out of 10. This was my first time holding and AR-15 and must say it's pretty easy to use, we were shooting only 75 yards at man sized targets. I fell in love with that rifle, I'll buy one soon enough.

It is a good platform and has just as many mods. But for strictly home defense you can't beat a shotgun. Unless you have a big yard, then yeah, I'd take .30 caliber over .22 caliber any day

Built a .300 Blackout pistol for the home. Mini is an awesome gun, but too long to manipulate around corners and narrow hallways.

At 18 I fired an H&K G3 and H&K 416 a lot! And I did to serve my nation, not do some gay hillbilly shit with my manfriend. MG3 and M2 Browning and M72 LAW is fun to shoot as well.

The range we were at was pretty packed lol. But since we were new shooters, the range officer stayed near us, and he had a ton of fun watching us, and was impressed that we picked it up quickly. Im more pumped for when I get my SU-16.

But even so, the addition of a couple inches to a suppressed pistol build would be more than compensated by saving your hearing if you have to fire in close quarters.
