it was the reality of working a 10 hour factory job for years. shit really wakes you up and makes you learn how fucked the system we live in really is. business doesn't give a fuck about you and the cost of living is insane. living on my own and working was such a huge wake up for me and made realize how "privileged" most conservatives are and how privileged i was. i thought i had it tough when i was young but it's nothing compared to now.

Yeah, if you are unable to even stand up to your own parents and argue that it's your future and thus your choice on the course you will follow, then you will fail miserably at debating anything politically.
So do what they tell you. Go to college, get massively in debt, hope to make it to middle management by the time you're 40, and 10 years after that maybe that college debt will finally be paid off. Just in time for you to seriously considering that third marriage.

Just pursue a degree in Public Admin and work for the Republican committee for your state. You get to travel around and once in a while you go to D.C. You can contribute your ideas without having to directly debate others. All paid for with delicious American tax dollars.
