We have several apartments we dont deliver to after dark. This wasnt one despite being what i think is ghetto and since its not on the list he have to take it. I usually keep my eyes peeled when i go to the poorer parts of our area. I called twice with no answer after no answer at the door. Left a msg. And waited a couple minutes to see if they called back since when we get back to the store we dont go back out most of the time. They got ,e right before i was about head back. Theres more to what happened but its a lot of detail to explain on exactly what happen

Texas dude again. I definitely had a few cases that were super shady. Such as the time an apartment delivery wouldn't answer the door even though I heard them inside. Apparently a dude had gone out the back door and circled around behind me but I was paying attention and squared up to him before he even dashed up the stairs. He clearly didn't expect me to be facing him and he had this awkward moment and then went in the apartment.

I've also had a guy rapidly approach me asking for some change while clearly holding something in his front right pocket. Loudly told him I didn't know him and to stay away which shocked him long enough for me to gtfo.

Both were in "ghetto" poor ass areas where people get shot occasionally...

what i might recommend too if you havent considered it before,,,, get one of those apps like textfree where you can just create and use a local number. 2 benefits are, your personal number doesnt go to random people you deliver to and you appear local so it might help your other issues of people not answering.

the app just uses data so if you dont have a smartphone it wont work, but could be something to think about. plus if you ever get a weirdo who decides to constantly harass you, you can make a new number in like 1 second.

In my experience managers will have your back if a situation is super sketchy. I've had a few non deliveries for that reason.

If nothing else you can just lie because the customer/criminal/whatever will lie too.
