Inside of the tap if a very small particle accelerator which is tuned to very specific coordinates (dictated by the speed, radius, yaw of the particle path), usually there is a body of water very close by the tap, long story short the whizzing particles form thousands of quantum wormholes which are just large enough to allow water-particles to seep through

It's amazing and really sad at the same time that we've discovered what's in effect teleportation, but the amount of energy to transport the water is too cost prohibitive for it to replace aqueducts, and if the quantum wormholes were any bigger it would cause blackholes that would tear all matter into pieces.
