Folliculitis. You have an infection of some sort, could be fungal, bacteria or yeast. You need to see a doc as there's a risk they can form close to the anus and cause a perforation into the lower intestine leaving to more serious infections

As a dermatologist what is your thoughts on body wash compared to soap. I think body wash is an all around inferior product to good old fashioned bar soap (or liquid castille soap).

you are right. bathing is overated in general. it dries the skin. if you are not really dirty its better to just wash areas that sweat like axilla and inguinocrural folds. just water on the rest.

there arent huge differences but bar has less chemicals and its easier to make so its better for the skin, the environment and cheeper.
