depends what you want to watch
nice self contained story? watch short series' and movies
long drama-ridden power-creep infested shit show? watch anything else i guess

obvs longer shit isnt going to suck 100% of the time but after like 30-50 + episodes its run its course for me.

Anime is a style, not a genre. There's good anime, and there's shitty anime, and there's a lot inbetween. There's even shitty anime with good art, and that's where things get confusing.
Personally I'd recommend either Ghost in Shell: Standalone Complex or Fullmetal Alchemist to get you started. Well drawn, well written, maybe trying a little hard to be deep, but overall pretty enjoyable.

Depends on which one you watch. Personally I reccomend starting with something small bit great with a good story and character development with pretty good fighting. I'd say start with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I wouldn't reccomend something with hundreds upon hundreds of episodes like Naruto, One Piece, Dragonball, or Fairy Tale

death note is probably the best anime to start with imo should give it a watch, if that aint for ya maybe fma brotherhood

What about the Ghibli movies? They're wholesome as fuck and the craftsmanship shows they were labors of love.

i tried to watch GiS and FMA and its shiiiit

this, death note is great
i prefer the original fma but weebs get way too butthurt over brotherhood

Death Note tries too hard. Arguably FMA tries too hard too at points, but it doesn't try anywhere NEAR as hard as Death Note.

My Hero Academia is awesome and I've just recently started watching Assassination Classroom. It's pretty cool so far
