The position has historically been responsible for keeping a lot of extremely sensitive information hidden for no discernable reason other than sekrit clob mentality, which screams to me that Catholicism has something to hide. I also dislike how the position has been abused many times in the past for political purposes.

I'm about as agnostic as a Christian can get; I'm not religious and I believe that one's spiritual connection with God is entirely their own to grow. Humans are disgusting, lying, poor imitations of God's master design and it's up to us to reach that level in order to rise above our own filth. However we can't be trusted to properly interpret that divine realization, and thus who can truly say they know God's word better than you do?

So yeah, I prolly wouldn't get along too well with the Pope, though I've got nothing personal against the dude. Some people can't rely on themselves to hear God, so hearing someone else's interpretation of His word is the best they can do. I just don't trust my soul to anyone but myself.
