Specifically the two-tone Commander model (two-tone finish, Pachmyr grips and Millet adjustable sights from the factory).
It has literally never jammed on me. Ever. It also fits my hand perfectly.
If the Hi-Power wasn't an option, it'd probably be a 1911. I just like the Hi-Power that much more.

Most of your decision is really subjective and only u know your needs/wants. Personally I'd recommend a single stack 9mm such as a m&p shield, Springfield XDS, I have both and highly recommend both. There are almost countless good options out there though

It's really a massive shame that you yanks are caught in a catch 22.
You predicated your nation on the right to bear arms to protect yourselves from the potential tyranny of governments - so everyone has readily available access to guns, therefore everyone has one.
Then your mental health problem started skyrocketing due to a myriad of factors, combined with the fact that guns are everywhere already, the obvious happens.
But because guns are already such a fundamental part of your country, to roll them back is almost impossible - you can try legislate guns out of the populating (which would only take guns out of honest people's hands, leaving guns literally everywhere else) or you keep it as is and suffer ongoing murders and massacres.

As has been said before, the US has a mental health problem being called a gun problem, but that is obviously only part of the issue, albeit a major part.
