Which means that they denied it previously, in support of his denials against other people. One reason could be, in a civil suit on a balance of probabilities, is that while things were innocent, they just look so bad that you're likely gonna lose, so you settle - that's the nature of lawsuits. So that one isn't as damning as it first seemed. But the rest of the stuff in the list sure does look shady as shit

The only takeaway is that it looked shady and caused the investigation
