Hey OP. This will not solve your problem but it’s a start to better mouth hygiene and you will feel better, less pain, and whiten teeth if you do Oil Pulling. Basically just swish coconut oil in your mouth for 15 minutes a day. It pulls the bacteria out of your cavities and helps naturally rebuild the health of your teeth. It’s a good short term solution until you find the care you need.

American dentist, here. If you post some more pics I might be able to suggest some ways you can stabilize your condition for a reasonable amount of money until you can find the funds to get more definitive treatment.

In general, I wouldn't go for a mouth full of implants. It's much better to have your own teeth in your head. Plus, if the implants fail, you can really be up shit creek.

To save on cash - any of the broken teeth that need root canals can be extracted, because their long term prognosis isn't very good. Any other fillings that need to be done can be done with composite (tooth colored filling material, "bonding"). Then, ask for something to hold your teeth in place until you can get implants or bridges for the missing teeth - this could be an essix or a removable partial denture. Once you have teeth extracted, your other teeth start moving around, and that can set you up to lose even more teeth to periodontal problems instead of decay. This is why an essix or removable partial are important.

Also, it goes without saying that you need to be really good about your oral hygiene and diet from here on out. That means flossing at least once a day and brushing at least twice a day. Also, don't smoke or sip on sugary drinks. That'll take you pretty far in the decay game. Another protip is to use a mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide in it first, then floss, then brush. Most people do it backwards from the optimal regimen.

You just need to be very meticulous about cleaning that area and don't consume sugary things. Sugary drinks are very destructive, so we dentists like to harp on those a lot. However, the fact of the matter is that decay is caused by bacterial plaque being on your tooth in a specific location and being able to consume carbohydrates over long periods of time. Remove the plaque or the sugar, and your teeth will stop decaying and remineralize. Remineralization doesn't mean that the cavity is gone, it just means that it won't progress and may be arrested indefinitely. Though, arrested lesions often look very dark, so a filling is warranted for esthetic reasons.

One really good way to speed up the remineralization is to have fluoride in contact with your teeth for long periods of time. To do that, when you brush your teeth at night, don't rinse. Just spit out as much as possible and go straight to bed without putting anything else in your mouth. At night, we salivate less, so the fluoride hangs around for a lot longer to strengthen the teeth. A variation that some people find to be less gross is that you can rinse out after brushing and then reapply toothpaste or use a fluoride rinse. Either way is fine.

Figure out how to go down and cross the border to Mexico. You can get dental work there for about a fifth the price that it is in the USA

I believe clindamycin is the next in line for people with penicillin allergies. Most dental infections are caused by anaerobic bacteria, and antibiotics with good coverage of those bacteria are good for dental purposes.

Also, you should definitely get it checked out if it's not going away. There are some conditions that can look a lot like abscesses, but antibiotics won't fix them.

If it's appropriate, an apicoectomy can be done, where the endodontist, dentist, or oral surgeon opens up your gums, cuts off the tip of the root, and fills the canal from the root side. When they do this, they can curettage the abscessed area to help get rid of the infection.

On a tooth with multiple roots would it be possible to fill one root and have the pulp chamber survive through blood supply from the other root(s)?

Over time and daily usage of charcoal to brush teeth will see abrasion toothwear of the teeth leading to sensitivity and possibly crown fracture

Like any restoration, you gotta keep it clean to prevent decay - be sure to floss. If the floss shreds, make sure to get the dentist to fix it. No restoration should shred floss.

Also, if it is a veneer, which only covers the front of the front teeth, be careful about biting in to stuff. They can break off or chip.
