Seek professional help. If your 13yrs old offspring steals and spits you in the face, you completely failed at parenting. Spanking is just admitting your failure and makes your daughter only despise you more.

Honest answer tho, that kind of behavior doesn't seem too far out of line for a spoiled, kind of bratty, teenage girl.
However, the fact that it's not out of line does not make it okay. my guess would be that you probably didn't go along with your punishments when she was younger and didn't teach her respect? (may be wrong, they're just assumptions in the end).
It's better late than never tho, so you should seek to teach her to act positively. violence is definitely not the answer here tho, that's what i can say. if you are unsure how to approach her (say she doesn't take you seriously or refuses to listen) you can definitely try to seek some professional help on the topic as someone already suggested. even if you may feel that seeking professional help will hurt your pride as a parent it's still a much better alternative to leaving her alone and not attempting to rectify her bad behavior at all.

Spanking your kids for disciplinary purposes is absolutely fine morally speaking.
The only problem is that you can get in deep shit and have your kid taken from you by the government, depending on what shithole you live in.
If she spat on you, I think I'd risk the legal consequences, pull her aside and give her a belt across the ass anyways.
