Psychiatric Nurses Assistant. Typically the guys you see in movies in mental institutions who wear scrubs is what I am. I generally act as a role model for them. Help them with general stuff. But when the time comes I have to restrain them and put them in pic related or hold them down for shots when they resist court ordered medicines.

Wish I could buy you a beer and swap stories. I work in a level 14 group home. Same kinda thing, but for kids. Out facility takes the extreme cases. Only really a level 14 because that's as high as the numbers go in AZ.

To put things in perspective, we have a 6 kid a year death limit before someone has to really look into things. Never get that far, luckily.

Personally I haven't. But I know plenty of other PNAs who have. Some patients aren't allowed into a bathroom alone because they only go in to jack off. Many times throughout the day even.

Never. My campus has good enough rules for watching out for suicidal patients. Any time a patient is in the toilet or the shower someone is at least listening in outside the bathroom.

i worked in the psych unit of a jail for a while, and there was always at least one guy there that would stand in front of the glass in his cell and jack off openly every time a female (nurse, guard, etc) came in. i mean some guards would white knight and go pepper spray them, but 9/10 just ignored it.

Some patients are totally allowed to seek a bathroom to jack off. In fact at my work place it's something involved in human privacy. But some use the bathroom for jacking off when it could be bad for their health. And at my workplace the wellbeing of the patient comes first. Where I work it's all about "competency". They don't stay here for long. Only until they are able to comprehend their charges.
