I'm in decent shape, for being "old af". In my part of the country, most of the guys stay in pretty good shape. In all honesty, we have to. Losing a fight can be fatal in this line of work. I know, we've all seen the guys that can barely fit in a uniform' but they are the exceptions that are posted on every anti-cop website as "the rule". I work in a moderately large city (third largest in my state) with a working class population, along with a large influx of 90's gangsters whose shithead children have grown up to be just like their daddies. I handle, on average, 8-10 calls a day. Back in my graveyard days, 20 or more calls weren't unusual. Getting through a week without a crazy shit call is unusual.
