sort of. the local government is mostly in the pockets of real estate developers, who are getting rich off of all the californians (really, fuck californians) moving here. so there is very little sjw policy that actually takes effect. however, the sjw mobs do have a lot of influence on local communities, and they have shut down businesses, festivals, and other events that did not agree with their worldview.

the actual answer is yes, it's as bad as you've heard and maybe worse.
I only survive here by sticking to the outskirts and avoiding interacting with them at all. They keep to certain neighborhoods.

The new Yorkers do come here but usually to get out of New York because they are tired of the chaos and insanity and want to live a quiet boring life. So they are a pretty well behaved group in my area.
