It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

End of Chapter 52
Thanks Warship user!
How're the seas?
Onto Chapter 53
I'm not going to lie I missed you,. With the end of the special assignment phase oh, we went on what is either considered a long underway, or short deployment, the brass aren't decided yet. I know right now or then I'm drunk and participating in the bursark d ayly. And that's begood
>I'm not going to lie I missed you
Missed you too, man, was wondering where ya went.
Sounds like things are always changing on the ship, always something going on.
Enjoy the down time when ya can, and take it easy!
I had a work friend that was cleaning suicidal tendencies. Whether he was serious or not I don't know. I don't think he should be in the military so, at the same time he's a shipmate to me I'm concerned for him. Deployments bring out the best and worst in people.
Can you imagine seeing the stars in the middle of pcific ocean during a stealth operation. Totally devoid of life or of natural light periods you don't see the milky way as a street as much as a streak specific cluster of stars in it's unreal in a way few people will witnessed it
That sounds like a tough situation with your friend, and it's hard to tell if people are seriously having problems or just coping with minor things in a weird way. Hope everything turns out alright with him.
That kind of view must be so surreal. People don't appreciate the beauty of nature or the night sky with all the distractions of light and people, but one you get out where there's nothing around you, then it's really something special.
I can't compete with seeing the night sky from the middle of the Pacific, but growing up in the country made me appreciate the isolation of nature.
He will be fine as long as he gets the fuck out. His previous station was a national cemetery honor guard. Which I will not begin to describe the insanity of. But in a conventional station I don't think he will be suted for. As such he does not belong in the military, but I still wish the best for him.
A day taking a month, and a month taking a minute, in a a month an hour. I've heard it before but never understood it until deployment. A day takes forever oh, but a month blinks by.
End of Chapter 53 and end of dump for tonight
Probably gonna be hard for him to realize that, but seems necessary in his case, especially in the military.
Passage of time is a really weird thing, something I've really enjoyed noticing.
I gotta head out for the night, but stay safe out there, hope to see ya again soon!
